Who Are We?
Thought For Today - May 1
Who Are We?
By: Robert A. Searles
"Jesus spoke many things unto them in parables, saying: 'Behold, a sower went forth to sow; and when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up: Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth: and when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away. and some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them: but other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixty fold, some thirty fold. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.' " Mathew13: 3-9.
Later, Jesus explained to his disciples the meaning of this parable.
"Hear ye therefore the parable of the sower. When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side. But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it; yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended. He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful. but he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty." Matthew 13:18-23.
Is our heart cold and stony? Do we harbor old hurts, and resentments? Do we hide injuries in our heart? Do we cling to worldly pleasures and sins so that our heart becomes stony and unable to allow the word of God to penetrate to the depths of our soul where it will take root and spring up and bear fruit?
Are we so entangled in the thorns and cares of our daily lives in this world that all our thoughts are on making a living, taking care of our families, and having a place in society, so that the word of God is choked out of our lives and profits us nothing? Or, are we the good ground which Jesus talked about - We desire a better understanding of God's word? We search the scriptures daily. We pray and ask God to give us spiritual understanding and discernment. We ask God to forgive all our known sins, take away, anger, resentments, grudges and give us love for one another so that the stony heart will become soft and be able to absorb the word of God.
If we would be untangled from the thorns of daily life, we must believe God's word in its' entirety, receive Christ as our Savior, and trust God to provide all our needs, and seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and have the assurance that all these other needs in our life God will provide for our good and his glory. Then we will be the good ground where the word of God will bear fruit in our lives.

When the Righteous Bear Rule!
Thought For Today -September 19
When the Righteous Bear Rule!
By: Robert A.Searles
"Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: the sceptre of thy kingdom is a right sceptre. Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore God, thy God hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows. All thy garments smell of myrrh, and aloes, and cassia, out of the ivory palaces, whereby they have made thee glad." Psalm 45: 6-8.
“But unto the Son he saith, thy throne, O God, is forever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom. Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.” Hebrews 1: 8, 9.
How wonderful it would be if all our governors and presidents, and those in authority loved righteousness and hated wickedness! How wonderful it will be when our Lord Jesus Christ who does love righteousness and hates wickedness will return from heaven and take his place on the throne of the kingdoms of this world and rule with a rod of iron and authority in his righteousness and holiness! Then will there be peace and joy and harmony once again on the earth. Come quickly Lord Jesus. We need your divine authority and leadership

Lip of Truth!
Thought For Today - April 29
Lip of Truth!
By: Robert A Searles
"The lip of truth shall be established for ever: but a lying tongue is but for a moment." Proverb 12: 19.
Truth will prevail and last forever. God is true, therefore eternal and everlasting. His word is true and trustworthy, therefore we can rely on it.
All kinds of fantasies and lies may come and pass away, but whatever is true, that will remain. If one's relationship to God is true, troubles may come, doubts may come, a certain falling away for a time may occur, but like the evening tide, that sweet fellowship with the Lord will return to the one who in truth knows him in whom he has believed.
If the foundation of the home is dug deep and set upon the rock of the true God, the Lord Jesus Christ, that house will stand and endure forever. If a marriage is founded upon true and genuine unselfish love, that marriage relationship will be forever.
Salvation which is true through the Lord Jesus Christ is a truth which will abide through all generations. Think therefore on things which are true, and speak things which are true.

Let It Be Heard!
By: Robert A. Searles
I have learned, and am still learning, that when I speak God's praises with my lips, and let my thoughts become audible to myself and to God, that my prayer and meditation becomes more meaningful to me than if I just think with my mind my praise and prayer to God, and remember with my mind his power. If we will speak with our lips what we know and feel in our heart, then our words take wings, as it were, and accomplish the mission and purpose for which they were meant.
God told Moses: "....speak ye unto the rock before their eyes; and it shall give forth his water, and thou shalt bring forth to them water out of the rock: so thou shalt give the congregations and their beast drink." Numbers 20: 8.
God didn't tell Moses to go up and just look at the rock and think in his mind that the rock had water and was capable of providing their needs, he told him to use his lips and speak to the rock where every one could hear. Jesus Christ is our rock, a fountain of life that will never run dry. We need to move our lips and speak audibly to him.
"And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear." Isaiah 65: 24

The Harvest is Ready!
Thought For Today - April 27
The Harvest is Ready!
By: Robert A. Searles
"And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted; and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. then saith he unto his disciples, 'the harvest truly is plenteous, but the laborers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth laborers into his harvest.' " Matthew 9: 35-38.
Isn't it a shame that we want God to do so much for us, but we do so little for him?

Avoid the Strange Woman ( or worldliness)!
Thought For Today - April 26
Avoid the Strange Woman (or worldliness)!
By: Robert A. Searles
“My son, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with thee. Keep my commandments and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye. Bind them upon thy fingers, write them upon the table of thine heart. Say unto wisdom, thou art my sister; and call understanding thy kinswoman: that they may keep thee from the strange woman, from the stranger which flatereth with her words.” Proverbs 7: 1-5.
Born again Christians are considered to be the bride of Christ and we are married to him. Any intercourse with the world and worldly things that would alienate us from him is considered by God as amounting to spiritual adultery. We are warned against the flattery of the world and its’ enticements even as the young man in the proverb is warned to remove himself from the enticement of the harlot.
Seek not pleasure and comfort from the "strange woman". Go not after other Gods, find your pleasure and comfort in almighty God alone, who is able to put the proper kind of joyfulness in our hearts. Worldliness is constantly calling to us as a harlot seeks after her prey. Be not deceived by the glitter and glamour of the works of darkness, for in the end comes only destruction from such associations.
The word of God, and the commandments of the Lord, if we keep them in our heart, are able to keep us from wandering away and falling into the trap of ungodliness. God is able to save us and to keep us from falling into the trap of the strange woman, and from the powers of darkness..
"And my soul shall be joyful in the Lord: it shall rejoice in his salvation. All my bones shall say, Lord, who is like unto thee, which deliverest the poor from him that is too strong for him, yea, the poor and the needy from him that spoileth him?" Psalm 35: 9,10.

Boast Not in Ourselves!
Boast Not in Ourselves!
"If thou hast done foolishly in lifting up thyself, or if thou hast
thought evil, lay thine hand upon thy mouth." Proverbs 30: 32.
We must be aware of our own weakness, and not be over confident in
our own strength in spiritual things, and not be haughty and high
minded. For wherein we seem to be the most confident, it is here that
we are in the most danger of failure. We must be in a state of constant
prayer and communion with the Lord, asking him to supply our strength
and faith, and keep us steadfast and unremovable.
Jesus
warned his disciples that he was to be betrayed by one of them, and
that he would be delivered up to the authorities to be crucified
"And
Jesus saith unto them, all ye shall be offended because of me this
night: for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall
be scattered. But after that I am risen, I will go before you into
Galilee. But Peter said unto him, although all shall be offended, yet
will not I. And Jesus saith unto him, verily I say unto thee, that this
day, even in this night, before the cock crow twice, thou shalt deny me
thrice." Mark 14: 27-30
Let us not boast in our own strength to see us through trying
times, but rely on the promises of God that he will supply the grace
that we need in times of trial.

Divine Guidance!
Thought For Today - April 24
Divine Guidance!
By: Robert A. Searles
When we willingly submit our spirit to the administration and control of God, the Holy Spirit, then we can know with confidence and assurance that we have divine guidance, and the following scripture is true:
"I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye. Be ye not as the horse, or as the mule, which have no understanding: whose mouth must be held in with bit and bridle, lest they come near unto thee. Many sorrows shalt be to the wicked: but he that trusteth in the Lord, mercy shall compass him about. Be glad in the Lord, and rejoice, ye righteous: and shout for joy, all ye that are upright in heart." Psalm 32: 8-11.

Judge Not!
Thought For Today - April 23
Judge Not!
By: Robert A. Searles
Jesus said: "Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. and why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and behold a beam is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye." Matthew 7: 1-5.
This does not mean that we are not to be discerning between truth and error, good and evil, but we cannot see all the reasons and motives of others, and the final consequences of their actions.
We all need to look into a spiritual mirror, as it were, and see ourselves for who, and what we are, and examine our own motives and actions and confess our own faults. We need to stop blaming others for our own mistakes, and ask God's forgiveness and seek to please him.

Better Than Rubies!
By: Robert A Searles
" Receive my instruction and not silver; and knowledge rather than choice gold. For wisdom is better than rubies; and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it." Proverbs. 8: 10,11
Nothing could be as valuable to us as the knowledge of God. Meeting with God is the most important activity of the day, thus, allowing God to speak to us through his word and Holy Spirit, and show us the way.
"I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me; Riches and honor are with me; yea, durable riches and righteousness. My fruit is better than gold, yea, than fine gold; and my revenue than choice silver." Proverbs 8: 17-19..
"How excellent is thy loving kindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings. they shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house; and thou shalt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures. for with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light. Unbound and Set free!
By: Robert A. Searles
"God setteth the solitary in families: he bringeth out those which are bound with chains: but the rebellious dwell in a dry land." Psalm 68: 6.
To have a rebellious spirit against God and his chain of authority which he has established on earth is like being bound hand and foot with chains, and being left all alone in the desert where there is no food and no water. The bible tells us that rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft.
Rebellion against God and his word is the root cause of all the troubles in the world.

I Am Greatly Blessed
Thought For Today - October 2, 2024
I am greatly blessed!
By: Robert A. Searles
"Blessed is the man whom thou choosest, and causest to approach unto thee, that he may dwell in thy courts: we shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house, even of thy holy temple." Psalm 65: 4.
God in his abundant grace and mercy has chosen me from among multitudes to approach unto him and to dwell in his house, and sit at his table, and be satisfied with the goodness of all his provision for me. Therefore, I am among the blessed of the earth, and have much to be thankful for.
I cannot fathom the depths of God's love that he would choose me from the foundation of the earth. It is all to the praise of the glory of his grace that he has lifted me out of the horrible pit and placed my feet on higher ground and caused me to dwell in high places with him. I owe him my life, my devotion, and service throughout all eternity, and yet, a gift is a gift, with no strings attached, given freely by grace alone, not deserved, and not earned, howbeit, I want to be devoted and to serve him out of gratitude for all he has done for me.
How about you, my friend, is this your testimony? I pray that it is.

God is! God knows! God Cares! God loves!
By: Robert A. Searles
God is, God knows, God cares, and God loves. It is a fact that God was from the beginning, is now, and ever shall be. It is a fact that God loves us, and because he loves us he provides for us all that we have need of.
He gives us that heavenly manna, the bread of life to be gathered each and every day, and he daily spreads a table in the midst of our enemies, and invites us to come and dine, and drink of the water of life freely. Therefore, we too can say with the psalmist -
"Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me: for my soul trusteth in thee: yea, in the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities be over past. I will cry unto God most high; unto God that performeth all things for me. He shall send from heaven and save me from the reproach of him that would swallow me up. Selah. God shall send forth his mercy and his truth. Psalm 57: 1-3.

Unto Thee O Lord Do I Lift Up My Soul
Thought For Today - April 18
Unto Thee O Lord Do I Lift Up My Soul.
By: Robert A Searles
There is really no excuse for the child of God to be down in the pits of depression and despair, and kept captive to besetting sins that keep us wallowing in the slough of despond, as it were.
"Bow down thine ear, O Lord, hear me: for I am poor and needy. Preserve my soul; for I am holy: O thou my God, save thy servant that trusteth in thee. Be merciful unto me, O Lord: for I cry unto thee daily. Rejoice the soul of thy servant: for unto thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul. For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee." Psalm 86: 1-5.
No need for us to walk around spiritually in dirty clothes, or to be spiritually poverty stricken, when we have at our disposal all that belongs to God in heaven and in earth.

Our Riches at Christ's Expense
Thought For Today -April 17
Our Riches at Christ's Expense!
By: Robert A. Searles
"For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye though his poverty might be rich." 2 Corinthians 8: 9.
I wonder if we who call ourselves Christians have ever really contemplated the abundance of the love and grace of our wonderful Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, who was infinitely rich and abounding in all that he had created; he who had an inexhaustible supply of grace; an inexhaustible supply of love; an inexhaustible supply of power, of energy, and strength; an inexhaustible supply of life, health, and inexhaustible fellowship with God the father, should put it all aside for awhile, and become the poorest of the poor for our sake, so that he would not enjoy all the beauty and splendor and wonders of heaven without us.
He had no place on earth to lay his head so that we might have mansions in our father's house forevermore. He became sin for us that our sins could be forgiven. He was separated from God the father for a season so that we could be reconciled to God our father. He allowed himself to feel pain, suffer hunger, and experience death, so that we might experience the joy and the goodness of our father's house.
Oh! let us consider the abundant riches of his grace in that he hath done all this for us, and let us be eternally grateful.

Here to Serve!
Thought For Today - April 16
Here to Serve!
By: Robert A. Searles
Once we are saved, we are left here on earth to serve the Lord, and to continue his ministry of reconciliation and good works which Jesus began when he was with us on earth. Now, the members of his body, being many and scattered throughout the world, having been anointed with the power of the Holy Spirit, can accomplish great things for him if we are willing and obedient servants.
We are left here on earth after we are saved, not to do our own will, but the will of him who saved us. The repeated routine of every day life does not make a lot of sense unless we realize why we are doing it. We work to buy food, clothing, and shelter, and some luxuries so that we can take proper care of these bodies, and be happy. Why do we do these things? It ought to be so that the Holy Spirit which lives within us can use us to accomplish great things for the glory of God.
"Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing. Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise; be thankful unto him, and bless his name. For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations. "Psalm 100: 1-5

As Much As in All Riches!
Thought For Today April 15
As Much As in All Riches!
By: Robert A. Searles
“I have rejoiced in the way of thy testimonies, as much as in all riches." Psalm 119: 14.
Can we declare with all honesty to God that we have rejoiced in the way of his testimonies. as much as in all riches?
Do we really get as excited about the things of God, and for being a part of the heritage of God, as we do when we are blessed with material things? How wonderful to be blessed of God with the material things that God gives us, and at the same time rejoice more because, God in his love has bestowed them upon us for our enjoyment for a season, but our ultimate welfare does not depend upon material things. Pray that God will incline our hearts unto his testimonies, and not to covetousness.
"Incline my heart unto thy testimonies, and not to covetousness" Psalm 119: 36
May we rejoice in the things of the Lord ,more than we do for material gain. "They that trust in the Lord shall be as mount Zion which cannot be removed, but abideth forever." Psalm 125: 1. https://telehelppublications.blogspot.com

Absolute Truth For all Generations!
Thought For Today - September 30
Absolute Truth for All Generations!
By: Robert A. Searles
"Make
a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. Serve the Lord with
gladness: come before his presence with singing. Know ye that the Lord
he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his
people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter into his gates with
thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and
bless his name. For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his
truth endureth to all generations." Psalm 100: 1-5.
One generation after another cannot come along and rightly say that the
things of God which were true for our forefathers are no longer true
for us today. God never changes, he is the same yesterday, today, and
forever. His law and his power is immutable. The principles which God
gave to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, and his people, Israel, and the
principles which Jesus taught are as relevant for us today as they were
when he taught them.
People are at fault and in gross error when they adopt the attitude of
permissiveness, and situation ethics which is so prevalent in the world
today. God changes not, and he expects his children not to be given to
change as far as believing his truth and acting upon it is concerned.
Just
because God has allowed us to have technological improvements to make
us more comfortable and more effective in serving him; and because he
has allowed us to put aside the horse and mule, as it were, and given us
automobiles, planes, and computers instead, in no way implies that God
has made of truth something different from what it already was from
everlasting to everlasting.
God is steadfast and unmovable. Let us pray that he will keep us rooted
and grounded in love and in truth, and stand our ground against the
lies and wiles of the devil. Especially in the coming election.

Polish the Silver!

Polish the Silver!
By: Robert A. Searles
"Take away the dross from the silver, and there shall come forth a vessel for the finer. Take away the wicked from before the king, and his throne shall be established in righteousness." Proverbs 25: 4,5.
Fine silver, if it is not polished and cleaned up, has the appearance of worthless junk; but when polished, it shines forth, and manifests its' true value. The same is true with those around us who have never been washed in the blood of the lamb, the Lord Jesus Christ, and been saved and polished in his righteousness.
How wonderful it would be if all of our government leaders and their councilors were saved, and washed in the blood of the lamb of God and polished in his righteousness. Our beloved country would then be established in righteousness and shine forth as fine silver.
God wants all of us, who have been washed and polished, to do all that he empowers us to do to witness to them that they might by faith, receive his pardon and forgiveness, and be washed in the blood of the Lamb of God that taketh away the sin of the world, and go forth leaping and praising him, and being a vessel for the finer

To Be Like Jesus!
By: Robert A. Searles
"The Lord is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy. The Lord is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works. All thy works shall praise thee, O Lord; and thy saints shall bless thee." Psalm 145: 8-10
God has told us: to be holy as he is holy while we have our sojourn and pilgrimage here on earth. God wants us to become more and more like him. We are to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We ought to covert the best things - that we might become more and more like him in grace and compassion, slow to anger, and show great mercy toward all of God's creation
We tend to become what we think about. Jesus told us: "As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he". If we will think and meditate on the God of our salvation, we will tend to become more like our Savior, although we will never be perfect like him until we behold his glory in heaven.
"The Lord is righteous in all his ways, and holy in all his works.". Psalm 145:17.
As the Lord is righteous in all his ways and holy in all his works, let us pray that he will make us right in all that we do, and say, and think, and let our mouth speak the praise of the Lord, and let our flesh bless his holy name for ever and ever.
"My mouth shall speak the praise of the Lord: and let all flesh bless his holy name for ever and ever." Psalm 145: 21.

Bread in the Wilderness!
By: Robert A. Searles
After the children of Israel had left Egypt under the leadership of Moses, they wandered in the wilderness for forty years because of their unbelief and disobedience, whereas, if they had believed and obeyed God, they could have immediately inherited the promised land. Nevertheless, God in his compassion and mercy provided for their needs in the wilderness. He fed them by sending down manna from heaven, and they were told to gather a certain portion for themselves for each and every day. It could not be hoarded nor stored up. If they tried to store up so they would not have to gather every day, they would find it spoiled and stinking.
Likewise, God in his grace and compassion, has provided for us, manna, as it were, while we are wandering about in the wilderness of this world from the cradle to the grave.
The Lord Jesus Christ is the heavenly bread which has been sent down from heaven to be our food and nourishment for each and every day. We are told if we will meet with him before the day begins, and eat his flesh and drink his blood by praying and meditating on his word, that we will have the nourishment we need to see us through the day. Abiding in him gives us eternal everlasting life.
The more we gaze upon him, the more we become like him. Look upon his holiness; his kindness; his confidence in God the Father. Look upon his willingness to have the Father's will accomplished in his life. Look upon his power in heaven and earth. Look upon his health. Look upon him as our source; our beginning; God's storehouse is brimming over with all that we will ever have need of, and he invites us to come and gather all that we want or need today.
"Then said they unto him, what shall we do, that we might work the works of God? Jesus answered and said unto them, this is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent. They said, therefore unto him, what sign shewest thou then, that we may see, and believe thee? What dost thou work? Our fathers did eat manna in the desert; as it is written, he gave them bread from heaven to eat. Then Jesus said unto them, verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my father giveth you the true bread from heaven. For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world. Then said they unto him, Lord, evermore give us this bread. And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of Life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst." John 6: 28-35.

Thought For Today - April 9 -
Positive Thinking !
By Robert A.Searles
All the day long, think upon God; think of how holy God is; think of how just God is; think of how merciful and forgiving God is.
Think always of the love of God, and how he expressed that love by his sacrifice for us. Think of how mighty and powerful God is. Think of how wise God is, and how wealthy he is.
The earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof. Think of how healthy God is; think of him who is full of life. He is the creator of all life. Think of how eternal God is, he is the first and the last, the beginning and the end, the alpha and omega. And then think this one solemn thought - God wants us to become as he is. He wants us to be conformed to the image of his son. If we think in this way we will be thinking positively even as God thinks. Therefore, if you want to be positive in thoughts and attitudes, think always on the Lord.

Our Prayer for Today
Thought For Today April 8
Our Prayer for Today.
By :Robert A. Searles
Our sincere prayer for today and every day ought to be - "That we walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and long suffering with joyfulness; giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear son: in whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins. Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature." Colossians 1: 10-15.

Ask and Receive!
By: Robert A. Searles
"Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: for every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him" Matthew 7: 7-11.
We can go to our heavenly father and ask for whatsoever we need, and we can be assured that he hears us, and will grant our request, if in his wisdom, he knows it is for our good and his glory,.

Thought For Today - April 6
Righteous or Wicked?
By: Robert A Searles
"Say ye to the righteous, that it shall be well with him: for they shall eat the fruit of their doings. Woe to the wicked! it shall be ill with him: for the reward of his hands shall be given him. As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths." Isaiah 3: 10-12.
Is this not true today in the world, and in our country, and in our homes, that children are our oppressors, and that women have the rule over us? This was never intended by God to be. God's plan for a happy and harmonious life is for children to be in subjection to their parents, and to be brought up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord, and for wives to lovingly follow the leadership of godly husbands or fathers. The situation in our homes and country today is, I believe, partially the judgment of God on those who have wickedly fallen away from him.
Verse 16 to the conclusion of Isaiah chapter 3 describes the revealing, haughty attire, and attitude of women in the world at the time it was written, but it also is descriptive of many today.. Instead of being loving wives, and mothers and sweethearts, they are in many instances, scheming, arrogant, and boldly aggressive.
"Moreover the Lord saith, because the daughters of Zion are haughty, and walk with stretched forth necks and wanton eyes, walking and mincing as they go, and making a tinkling with their feet: therefore the Lord will smite with a scab the crown of the head of the daughters of Zion, and the Lord will discover their secret parts. In that day the Lord will take away the bravery of their tinkling ornaments about their feet, and their cauls, and their round tires like the moon, the chains, and the bracelets, and the mufflers, the bonnets, and the ornaments of the legs, and the headbands, and the tablets, and the earrings, the rings and the nose jewels, the changeable suits of apparel, and the mantles, and the wimples, and the crisping pins, the glasses, and the fine linen, and the hoods, and the vales. and it shall come to pass, that instead of sweet smell there shall be stink; instead of a girdle a rent; and instead of well set hair baldness, and instead of a stomacher a girdling of sackcloth; and burning instead of beauty. Thy men shall fall by the sword, and thy might in the war. and her gates shall lament and mourn; and she being desolate shall sit upon the ground." Isaiah 3: 16-26.
Could this be a warning for us today as well as it was in Isaiah’s day?

Washed in the Blood!
By: Robert A. Searles
"Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil; learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow. Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord, though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land: but if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it,." Isaiah 1: 16-20.
The only effective washing that is available to us to make us clean in God's eyes, is the washing, by faith, in the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Only by the shedding of blood is there remission of sins. Only the blood of Jesus Christ is accepted by God for this purpose. The shed blood of Jesus Christ is the propitiation for the sins of all who will believe.
God has not left us helpless. He has not placed demands on us for holiness without giving us the means to be holy. He has said, "come, let us reason together". He has offered to wash us in his own blood by faith, and forgive all our sins and make us clean.
If we are obedient to his call, then we will enjoy all the joy and happiness and blessing that God has in store for us. We shall eat the good of the land, but if we refuse and rebel, we shall be destroyed, and we can blame no one but ourselves for not obeying the voice of God when he has spoken.

Meet With God in the Morning!
Thought For Today - April 4
Meet with God in the Morning!
By: Robert A. Searles
"Cause me to hear thy loving kindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee. Deliver me, O Lord, from mine enemies: I flee unto thee to hide me. Teach me to do thy will; for thou art my God: thy spirit is good; lead me into the land of uprightness. Quicken me, O Lord, for thy name's sake: for thy righteousness' sake bring my soul out of trouble. And of thy mercy cut off mine enemies, and destroy all them that afflict my soul: for I am thy servant." Psalm 143:8-12.
What better way could there be for each of us to begin each day than to meet alone with God in the quietness of our secret chamber.
Begin the day with worship, and praise to God, and ask him to speak to us through his word, and by the Holy Spirit, and let us sense his love and concern for us. If we ask in faith, and sincerely desire that for which we ask, he will show us the right paths, and the right and proper things for us to do today. Our enemies are spiritual in nature, principalities and powers in high places, eager and ready to destroy us, and to rob us of our joy and happiness; but God will deliver us from all of them if we but ask and believe. God will show us what he wants us to do each day to serve him and accomplish his purposes.
When we meet with God the first thing in the morning, we are quickened, or made alive in the spirit and given new energy and strength for the day, and we are more aware of God's grace, and forgiveness , and provision. Meeting with God the first thing each and every day is the secret of a successful happy, fruitful life, pleasing to God.

Victory in Christ!
Victory in Christ!
Plead my cause, O Lord, with them that strive against me, fight
against them that fight against me. Take hold of shield and buckler, and
stand up for mine help. Draw out also the spear, and stop the way
against them that persecute me: say unto my soul, I am thy salvation.
Let them be confounded and put to shame that seek after my soul: let
them be turned back and brought to confusion that devise my hurt. Let
them be as chaff before the wind: and let the angel of the Lord chase
them. Let their way be dark and slippery: and let the angel of the Lord
persecute them." Psalm 35: 1-6
When we become Christians by admitting our sin, and receiving
Christ as our Savior, we are born again into God's family, and we
immediately enter a combat zone. We face enemies that we never had to
face before. Enemies whose commanding officer is Satan himself. We must
constantly draw from God our father our strength and help to combat
our enemies. Christ our captain will lead us to victory if we dedicate
ourselves to him and trust him.
"All
my bones shall say, Lord, who is like unto thee, which deliverest the
poor from him that is too strong for him, yea, the poor and the needy
from him that spoileth him?" Psalm 35: 10

Choose Life!
By: Robert A. Searles
"Enter ye in at the strait gate; for wide is the gate, and broad the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be that go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it." Matthew7: 13,14.
If we are saved, and if we know that we are saved and on our way to heaven, stop and think of just how fortunate and blessed we are. Of all the multitudes of people in the world, we are among the few who are saved and have heaven and the paradise of God to which we can look forward.
Most people who have been born into this world, and there are multitudes, both dead and living, who have walked the broad highway of death and eternal destruction, and will spend eternity in hell, having neglected, and rejected God's offer of forgiveness and salvation. How precious we ought to esteem the grace of God that has been extended to us through the Lord Jesus Christ! How we ought to treasure this great inheritance we have in Christ
Relatively few people have received it, although God is not willing that any should perish, and his grace is extended to all who will hear and respond to his call. Blessed are all those whom God has caused to be born into the family of God, and entered the narrow gate that leads to eternal life. How great is our God, and how great and how precious is our salvation!
