Want to Go to Heaven? - Only one way!

Thought for Today - February 29, 2024

Want to Go  to Heaven? - Only one way!
By: Robert A. Searles

If we want to experience a bountiful, heaven  blessed life here on earth, and  If we want to ascend up to Heaven when our life on earth has ended, Jesus said that we must have experienced two births - that of the flesh, and that of the spirit, to see and enter into the kingdom of Heaven.
"And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven,"- The LORD Jesus Christ.!

"And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life."

" For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

"For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved."

" He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God."

"And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil."

"For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved."

"But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God"

"He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him,"  John 3:

The Strange Woman!

Thought For Today - February 28, 2024
The Strange Woman!

By: Robert A. Searles
As well as warning us to beware of the folly of the lust of the flesh as it pertains to falling into the sin of adultery, the mention of the strange woman in scripture typifies , and speaks of anything that would draw us away from God. Adultery in scripture also has a twofold meaning, in that, not only does it pertain to the actual act of physical adultery, but , it also typifies and speaks of the act of turning away from our first love, who, for the Christian and child of God, is our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.

The command given to us that we should not commit adultery is a twofold command to warn us not to leave our physical mates for another, but, also , it is a warning to the bride of Christ for us not to become involved in any affair that would constitute our committing spiritual adultery against our first love. So, the mention of the strange woman in the scriptures speaks of any thing, or any one, that would draw us away from God, and his perfect will for us.  Speaking of the strange woman, Proverbs 5: 4 says: "her end is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a two edged sword."

What are the results of yielding to those things that draw us away from God?
When we are drawn away from God and commit adultery with other Gods, we are cast about by every wind or doctrine. We are like the chaff that is blown about by the wind, according to Proverbs 5:6 an unstable life without foundation where it says -"Lest thou shouldest ponder the paths of life, her ways are moveable, that thou canst not know them".

What are some of the strange women in our lives with whom we commit adultery? Could it be an non-confessed sin that draws us out of fellowship with God? Could it be a grievance of the Holy Spirit because of something that we have not made right, perhaps a broken promise, or an non-kept vow? Could it be that there is some person, husband, wife, son or daughter, mother, father , or friend, that we desire their admiration, respect, and esteem so much that we would turn aside from God for them? Is the strange woman in our lives our material possessions, our house, our car, our business, bank accounts, our job? Is it our education? Is it our standing in the community?

Whatever it is that draws us away from God and causes us not to put God at the very pinnacle of our lives, and the seat of our conscious worship, is nothing but an adulterous whore, and we are warned to seek wisdom that we may be kept away from the strange woman which flattereth with her words.

Following the strange woman means ultimate destruction. God admonishes us not to be a wanderer away from God. Be true to your first love. Be true to the wife of your youth. Bride of Christ, be true to the one who has bought you and married you.

Thou shalt have no other Gods before thee. Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul. So shalt thou keep his commandments and live. - -

No True Atheists

Thought for Today - February 26, 2024
No True Atheists

 By Robert A. Searles
There are no true atheists, for all people everywhere believe in something, and trust in something,  but they that know not our Christ, and the one true God which he reveals himself to be are like the gods to which they bow down .  They are dumb and stupid.
“Their idols are silver and gold, the work of mans  hands.  They have mouths,  but they speak not: eyes have they, but they see not:  they have ears, but they hear not; noses have they but they smell not:  they have hands, but they handle not: feet have they, but they walk not; neither speak they through their throat.  They that made them are like unto them; so is every one that trusteth in them. Psalm 115: 4-8
It is dumb and stupid to trust in things, or ourselves, or other people, or houses and lands, or riches, yet the world worships at the altar of materialism, and  the religion of secular humanism is the faith of the masses of unsaved heathen.  The heathen  is not limited to remote primitive peoples as we have sometimes stereotyped them to be, but in spite of its' beginning, America today is a heathen nation for the most part, for the majority of the people of this  country are idol worshipers, worshipers of false gods.  We have departed from the faith of our fathers and put our  faith in man and man's so called achievements.  Men and women are living together in adultery and fornication contrary to the teaching of God, and new born babies are being slaughtered by the millions and few people lift a finger to stop the massacre.
Heathen Americans point their bony , self righteous finger in the face of God and mock him; but you self proclaimed atheist, who are not really atheist, but worshipers of false gods, better be aware of the fact that the true God, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, the keeper of Israel and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will bring judgment on all evil doers.
“Wherefore should the heathen say, where is now their God?  But our God is in the heaven: he hath done whatsoever he hath pleased.” Psalm 115: 2,3.
You who have a mind with which to think, and  not yet completely sold to be a puppet on Satan's rope: - “Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall  be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be  as wool,  if ye be willing and obedient,  ye shall eat the good of the land: but if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be  devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.” Isaiah1:18-20

Thought For Today - February 24, 2024

Volunteers Needed!
By: Robert A. Searles

God is looking for recruits and volunteers, those who are willing to go where he sends, and do what he asks them to do to serve him and spread the good news of the gospel.

No one can do the work of God effectively unless they are called and annointed and empowered by the Holy Spirit.  Some may presume to do the work of God in their own strength and power, but will bear little or no fruit for God's glory.  Some may seek to serve God for their own personal gain or glory, and some for filthy lucre.

In our battle for the Lord we will face all manner of evil and unclean spirits.  We must draw our power from Christ in order to combat this evil and be delivered from the power of Satan.

There are no more apostles today, but we who are born again Christians are all disciples who are called of God to go to the lost sheep in our own families, and neighborhoods, and deliver the message of salvation so that sin sick souls can be delivered from their diseases and be healed.

Christ's commission to us today is no different than it was when he spoke to his twelve disciples and gave them power to witness for him.

"And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease." Matthew 10: 1
"These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not: But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.  And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.   Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.   Provide  neither gold, nor silver, nor brass in your purses,   Nor scrip for your journey, neither two coats, neither shoes, nor yet staves:  for the workman is worthy of his meat.  And into whatsoever city or town ye shall enter, enquire who in it is worthy; and there abide till ye go thence.   And when ye come into an house, salute it. And if the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it: but if it be not worthy, let your peace return to you. And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet.  Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city." Matthew 10: 5-15

No Escape!

Thought for Today - February 23, 2024

No Escape!

By:  Robert A. Searles

There is no escape from the knowledge and presence of God, whether we are the saved, born again children of God, or otherwise.  Saved or lost, God almighty searches us, and knows us by name.

"O Lord, thou hast searched me, and known me."  Psalm 139: 1

Thou knowest my down sitting and mine uprising. Thou understandest my thoughts  afar off." Psalm 139: 2.

The atheist and fool may deny that God exists and has knowledge of us and all of our doings ,but the truth remains that God is and ever more shall be, and he will,in his own good time reward the righteous, and  bring righteous judgment on the wicked.  Therefore,we need to be very careful of what we speak with our tongue.

"For there is not a word in my tongue but, lo, thou knowest it altogether." Psalm 139: 4

There is no place that we can go to hide from the love of God, nor from the wrath of God.  The love and protection of God, or the wrath and judgment of God is determined by our own free will and choosing.  God has offered to all of us the choice of life, or death.  Whichever one we choose is our own individual responsibility.  When we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and savior, we have chosen life, but if we reject him we will have chosen eternal death.

"Such knowledge is too wonderful for me: it is high, I cannot attain unto it. Wither shall I go from thy spirit? Or wither shall I flee from thy presence ?  If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: If I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.  If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.  If I say, surely the darkness shall cover me: even the night shall be light about me.  Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day. the darkness and the light are both alike to thee." Psalm 139: 6-12.

Since we are  warned that we are under the constant surveillance of God, this is comforting assurance of the love and protection of the born again child of God, but for the lost unbeliever, it is a fearful warning of that which  they will have to give an account at the great white throne of God's judgment seat, unless they repent and turn to Jesus.

We all need to search our own souls to see if we are comfortable with that which God sees in us, or if we need to confess and make things right with God through Christ.

"Search me, O God, and know my heart. Try me, and know my thoughts: and see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting."Psalm 139: 23-24

Good Tidings of Salvation to Zion

Good Tidings of Salvation to Zion

"The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;  To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified.

And they shall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the waste cities, the desolations of many generations.  And strangers shall stand and feed your flocks, and the sons of the alien shall be your plowmen and your vinedressers.  But ye shall be named the Priests of the Lord: men shall call you the Ministers of our God: ye shall eat the riches of the Gentiles, and in their glory shall ye boast yourselves. For your shame ye shall have double; and for confusion they shall rejoice in their portion: therefore in their land they shall possess the double: everlasting joy shall be unto them. For I the Lord love judgment, I hate robbery for burnt offering; and I will direct their work in truth, and I will make an everlasting covenant with them.  And their seed shall be known among the Gentiles, and their offspring among the people: all that see them shall acknowledge them, that they are the seed which the Lord hath blessed.

I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh [1] himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels. 11 For as the earth bringeth forth her bud, and as the garden causeth the things that are sown in it to spring forth; so the Lord GOD will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations."   Isaiah 61: 1-10

Wait On The Lord!

 Thought For Today – February 22, 2024
Wait On The Lord!

By: Robert A. Searles
“I had fainted unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.  Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.” Psalm 27: 13, 14.
Oh! The sloughs of despondency  that we as Christians so often and so easily fall into when we are anxious for our lives, and have not the patience we need to be calm, and to wait on God. Oh! How difficult it is to believe that which we cannot see and touch.,  This is  part of our old carnal nature, but the gift of God is faith.  Faith even as the size of a grain of mustard seed to believe the promises of God's word, if we exercise it properly, will be as a light in a dark tunnel that will direct our thoughts and actions toward God, and allow us to perceive the goodness and providence of God.
Believe God, trust his word, stagger not at the promises of God.  Even as Abraham of old, believe God implicitly and God will not fail those who put their trust in him.  Believe to  see the goodness of God in the land of the living, and you will not faint.  Many times throughout the scriptures, we see that God does not seem to be in any hurry to do all that he has planned to do for our good.
We honor God when we determine in our heart to wait for the promise of God's infallible word.  If God has spoken rest assured it shall be done as he has said.
Therefore - “Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait I say on the Lord.” Psalm 27: 14.

God, The King of the Earth

Thought for Today - February 21, 2024

God, The King of the Earth

By: Robert  A. Searles

"O clap your hands all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph." Psalm 47. 1

"For ye shall go out with joy and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you unto singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands." Isaiah 55: 12

"For the Lord most high is terrible: he is a great king over all the earth." Psalm 47: 2

"He shall cut off the spirit of princes; he is terrible  to the kings of the earth." Psalm 76: 12

".........I am a great king, saith the Lord of hosts, and my name is dreadful among the heathen." Mal 1: 14

"He shall subdue the people under us, and the nations  under our feet." Psalm 47: 3

"Sing praises to God, sing praises;sing praises unto our king; sing praises Psalm 47: 6

"For God is the king of all the earth: sing ye praise with understanding." Psalm 47: 7

" God reigneth over the heathen. God sitteth upon the throne of his holiness." Psalm 47: 8

Dare anyone contradict that God is King and ruler of all the earth ?

Know this all people, all ye presidents; all legislators; all governors ;all who are in authority; God will have his way eventually in all situations. God is King of all the Earth. Praise God!

Which Road Will You Take?

Thought For Today  February 20, 2024

Which Road Will You Take?

By: Robert A. Searles

There are two roads in life on which mankind may travel.  It is impossible to travel on both roads at the same time, therefore one must chose which road he will travel.  Both roads start from the  same place, and it appears at first that they will both lead to the same destination, for they seem to run parallel to one another for quite a distance, but then very subtly they begin to separate and the distance between them begins to widen, and after a while they have gone in completely different directions.
Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior has warned us about choosing  the wrong road in life, and has described these two roads for us.  He has pictured one as being a very broad , well paved, well lighted, and easily traveled highway on which it seems would be the most logical way to travel if one had alternate ways of reaching the same destination.  This is the highway upon which most people travel.  This is the most popular  highway for the multitudes, but this road does not lead eventually to heaven, but it will take you directly to hell.

Jesus said: "Enter ye in at the strait gate for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leadeth to destruction, and many there be that go in thereat Because strait is the gait and narrow is the way. which  leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.” Matthew 7: 13, 14..
If one would go to heaven, he must choose the narrow road.  This is the unpopular way according to the multitudes.  It is difficult to travel.  It has treacherous curves.  It is rocky.  It is a road that few people want to travel, but it is the only  road that leads to heaven.
“Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto  you will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.” Luke 13: 24.
My friend, if you want to go to heaven and enjoy the riches of God's glory forever, then you must choose the right road.
Jesus said, “I am the door”  he also said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.”

If you would have life eternal, you must choose to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and receive him as your Lord and Savior, and by his grace, walk in the paths that he has trod

Worship in Spirit and in Truth

 Thought For Today - February 19, 2024
Worship in Spirit and in Truth
By: Robert A. Searles

God is an all powerful, supernatural, invisible God, or he is no God at all. God is an invisible spirit, and unless we worship God in spirit, we cannot worship God at all. No man has seen God at any time, although he was manifested in the flesh in the person of the Lord Jesus Christ, God the son. No man has seen God the father . We must approach unto God the father by the authority given to us by the Lord Jesus Christ.

"As many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God." and as sons of God, we must come boldly to the throne of grace and worship God the father, God the son, and God the Holy Spirit in spirit and in truth by the thoughts of our mind, and the meditation of our heart . We must worship by concentrating our mind on the person of the Lord Jesus Christ, and by letting God's word flow through our minds, and teach us with the help of the Holy Spirit, and allow the Holy Spirit to take the word of God as it flows through our mind and heart, and renew and regenerate within us the truth of God, the power of God, and the personality of the Lord Jesus Christ.

If we are to have power with God, we must spend much time alone with God in an individual personal relationship with God and draw from his power. The night that Jesus was betrayed, he spent the whole night in the garden in prayer and meditation with God the father. Before the Lord Jesus Christ could perform the greatest service to mankind that could ever be performed for the human race in obedience to the will of God, even though he was God in human flesh, yet he thought it necessary to spend hours in prayer and meditation, and close relationship with his heavenly father.

In Matthew's gospel, chapter 26: verse 36 , we read how Jesus came to the garden of Gethsemane. That was a quiet place where Jesus was probably accustomed to coming, where he could spend many hours alone with his father. He had probably been there many times before. The hymn writer says: "There's a garden where Jesus is waiting, its the beautiful garden of prayer." Our frustrations, and fears, and sorrows and disappointments will all be put away or eased when we come to the garden and spend much time there and talk it over with the Lord.

Unless an electrical appliance is plugged into a power source it is useless to serve us in any way, and unless we are plugged into our power source through prayer and meditation and fellowship, our service will be useless to man or God.

"Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and saith unto the disciples, sit ye here, while I go and pray yonder. And he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and very heavy. then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me. And he went a little further and fell down on his face, and prayed, saying, O my father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me, nevertheless not as I will but as thou wilt. And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour? Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak." Matthew 26: 36-41.

Danger Signals!

 Thought  for Today – February 18, 2024
Danger Signals!

By: Robert A.Searles
The human body is equip with danger signals which serve to alert the senses when it is in trouble or in danger.  For example: If we have an infection or a disease in our bodies that could cause us to be in danger, the nervous system sends signals to the brain, in the form of pain or discomfort, to warn us that all is not right within.  When all is safe and secure within our bodies, as a rule, we are without pain or discomfort, and we are at peace within our bodies.
Likewise our soul has danger signals which alert our senses to the fact when all is not well and healthy with our soul.  What are some of the symptoms of an unhealthy soul and spirit?  The answer – Lack of peace – uneasiness, frustration, uneasy or uncomfortable when in the presence of sincere, enthusiastic servants of God; uncomfortable when in the presence of those who are praising God or testifying or praying.  If you would prefer to think of more practical things rather than to think of the spiritual, if you cannot get interested in the things of the Lord, If you get bored easily when spiritual matters are discussed, and  if the talk of heaven seems morbid, and the fear of bad  health or death is always present, then it is time, if you profess to be a Christian, to check up on the well being of your soul.  When we are afraid to pray or talk  to God for fear of his condemnation, or afraid to speak the name of the Lord Jesus Christ publicly, these and many others are the danger signals of an unhealthy soul.  When we have any or all of these symptoms, we ought to hasten to the great physician and lover of our souls, the Lord Jesus Christ and seek healing, pardon and forgiveness, so that we might be found prospering and in good health.
Generally speaking, the characteristics of a healthy soul is to be always rejoicing in  the Lord, and offering continual praise and  thanksgiving to the Lord.  A healthy soul is afraid of nothing, and is careful for nothing, but is trusting in the Lord for all things.  The healthy soul is being filled with the peace of God which passes all understanding.  Thoughts of heaven are a  delight, and death is thought of as another stage of life.  If we posses a healthy soul we can  sing with the songwriter- “it is well with my soul.” and we will love to be with God's people.  We will  love to talk to God in prayer.  We will love to praise God. We will not be afraid of God's judgment because we know that the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from all guilt.  A healthy soul has an appetite for the things of God, we like to eat the meat of  the word and feed upon the heavenly manna of God.
“Rejoice in the Lord always, and again I say rejoice.  Let your moderation be  known unto all men, the Lord is at hand.  Be careful for nothing, but in every thing by  prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your request be made known unto God, and the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4: 4-7

From the Old to the New

When we accept Christ as our Savior and are truly "born again"  - that is - if we truly believe with all our heart all that we confess with our mouth, that we come to him as lost sinners with no hope whatsoever of eternal life, and at that instant by his grace we are changed from the old to the new, we are saved.  When we receive Christ's death and sacrifice on the cross as being  that of our own death to ourselves and our own sinful nature and lifestyle,  God the Father sees us there on the cross with Christ dying with him.  We are dead in Christ.

When God the Father raised Jesus from  the dead, we who have died with him, are also given new life, a new nature and lifestyle by the presence of the Holy Spirit who comes to live within us.  All who have died with Christ , God will raise again  to live with him forever.  Christ is the first fruit of the resurrection of all.

It is fruitless for any of us to try to live a Christian life in our own power.  It is impossible, try as we may to change our ways.  It must be Christ in us who changes our ways and does all things for us which we cannot do for ourselves.  We must stop trying to be that which we cannot be  or do by ourselves to please God, and open wide the gates of our heart and invite the Holy Spirit of God to enter and take complete control  of our whole being, body, mind and soul.  Stop trying to be a Christian.  Let Christ do all , and the love, joy and peace shall flood your soul and you will have abundant life for ever more.

Relax! give it all to Jesus, believe every word he has spoken and he will do it.

"If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.  Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.

The Old Life and the New

Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the childen of disobedience: In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them.

Walking with God!

 Thought For Today - February 16, 2024

Walking with God!

By: Robert A. Searles
Fellow Christians, let us examine ourselves, are we walking each day with God? Is he our constant companion wherever we go, and whatever we do? Do we go anywhere, or do anything that we could not go or do in the companionship of God? Are we really walking with God, or is he just tagging along behind because we have put ourselves, and other things ahead of him? He has promised never to leave us, nor forsake us; but we are guilty of ignoring his presence with us ,because sometimes we want to indulge ourselves - we want to go places, and do things, and be involved in things that we know God will not be a part of because he is Holy and righteous.
"Enoch walked with God for three hundred years and begat sons and daughters, and all the days of Enoch were three hundred and sixty five years; and Enoch walked with God and he was not for God took him." According to Genesis 5: 22,23,24.
Three hundred years is a long time to walk with God, but God and Enoch must have had a glorious time together, because their relationship was so intimate that Enoch was the first person to be raptured. One day God and Enoch were so involved in each other's company, that suddenly Enoch was not, for God took him.
God gives special favors and privileges and honors to those who will choose to walk with him, to deny self, and to forsake places, and things, and companions that are not pleasing to God.
"Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord. Noah was a just man and perfect in all his generations, and Noah walked with God." Gen 6: 8, 9.  Noah was given the honor of preserving life on planet earth during the flood.
To walk with God, we must agree with God in all points. "Can two walk together except they be agreed?" He that would walk with God must believe and agree that he is, and that he is a rewarder of all those who diligently seek him. Without faith it is impossible to please God.  To walk with God, we must agree with God when he says: "there is none righteous, no, not one." Rom 3: 10. And,” All have sinned and come short of the glory of God." Rom 3: 23. And,” The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is everlasting life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Rom 6: 23. To walk with God we must agree with God that these words apply to us, and declare with Paul, that we are chief among sinners, but the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from all sin. "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3: 16.
To walk with God, we must agree with God that our standing with him does not come as a result of our good works, or our own righteousness, but - "By grace are ye saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, not of works lest any man should boast." Ephesians 2: 8,9.
God made people in his own image to walk with him. This is our calling as the ultimate creation of God. "Whosoever will may come." Jesus said. "All who come to me I will in no wise cast out. "He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good: and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God." Micah 6:8. "For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro through out the whole earth to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him." 2 Chron 16: 9. "He cutteth out rivers among the rocks; and his eye seeth every precious thing." Job 28:10. "The Lord is in his holy temple, the Lord's throne is in heaven; his eyes behold, his eyelids try the children of men." Psalm 11:4. "Behold. the eye of the Lord is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy, to deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine." Psalm 33: 18. "The eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers; but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil." 1 Peter 3: 12.
Beware, we are under constant surveillance. We are constantly being watched. Shakespeare said: "All the world is a stage and men and women merely players." What he should have said is that men and women are like microbes under God's microscope, although God does not need a microscope to see all the hidden things of men's heart, his eyes are sufficient.
We are being watched by the Lord ,,and all the host of heaven, to see what our choices will be in any given situation. the Lord's eyes are searching for the person who will choose to walk humbly with him and honor him.  God does not overlook anything that he finds to be precious in his sight. God is ready and pleased to reward righteousness and faithfulness when he finds it.
My fellow Christian, if you have been saved by the precious blood of the Lord Jesus Christ, won't you come out of hiding, as it were, and make yourself known to the world as a Christian, hating sin as God hates sin, but loving the sinner as God loves sinners. Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, and glorify God.  Fellow Christian, God gives you a free will to choose good or evil, life or death.   This old world in which we live is on its' last legs. Sin and corruption and wickedness prevail everywhere, and even our own beloved country is ripe for the judgment of God. We, who are called the children of God,  must choose to walk with God moment by moment, and day by day, and put on the uniform of the redeemed child of God. As a good soldier of Jesus Christ, we must not  become so entangled with the things of this life that we would be handicapped in the army of the Lord. If you have tasted and seen that the Lord is good and merciful, and that he has raised you up out of the miry pit, how can you not with gratitude, present yourselves a living sacrifice to God which is your reasonable service, that you might walk with him, and that he might cleanse you and fill you with his spirit, and completely take over your entire being, so that you might be an instrument in his hand ;so that he might work a good work in you and through you as he did with Enoch and Noah, and all the other saints down through the ages who chose to walk with God.
The bible teaches us that the Lord Jesus Christ is coming again, and when he comes, he will have with him crowns and rewards for those who were willing to choose to obey him, to hear his call, and go forth to battle for his glory. Fellow Christian, right now as you read this message, you are of necessity making a choice. What will it be?

Eliminate the Negatives; Accentuate the Positives!

 Thought for Today - February 15, 2024

Eliminate the Negatives; Accentuate the Positives!

By: Robert A. Searles

Paul's advice to the Philippians was to cast aside all useless worries and cares that confront them  and to focus their attention on Christ who supplies all their needs according to his riches in glory, and  rejoice in him.

This advice we need to apply to our own lives today as well, for as Christians we are joint heirs with Christ and we sit together with him in heavenly places.   His will for us is to be freed from the guilt of our sins and to have happy eternal everlasting life in him with a bright future wih him in heaven, so, lets turn off the negative lies that Satan brings before us and trust and rejoice in Christ.

"Rejoice in the Lord  : and again I say, Rejoice. Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.  Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.  I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me  But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Now unto God and our Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen." Philippians 4
