Jesus Speaks!

Thought For Today - September 15

Jesus Speaks!

By: Robert A. Searles

I invite you to listen and hear the word of the Lord, and  believe, and inherit everlasting life.

"Then answered Jesus unto them: 'Verily, verily, I say unto you; the son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the son' ." John 5: 19

"For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth; and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may marvel." John 5: 20

"For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth them, even so the Son quickeneth whom he will." John 5: 21

"For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the son: that all men should honor the son, even as they honor the father. He that honoreth not the Son honoreth not the Father, which  hath sent him." John 5: 22,23

"Verily, verily, I say unto you, he that heareth my word and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come unto condemnation; but is passed from death unto life."John 5: 24

"Verily, verily, I say unto you, the hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live." John 5: 25

"For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the son to have life in himself; and hath given him authority to execute judgment also because he is the son of man." John 5: 26,27

"Marvel not at this, for the hour is coming in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, and shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation." John 5: 28,29

Dear reader, if you would choose life over death, listen carefully to that which Jesus speaks and be a believer.

Volunteers Needed!

Thought For Today - November 26
 Volunteers Needed!

By: Robert A. Searles

God is looking for recruits and volunteers, those who are willing to go where he sends, and do what he ask them to do to serve him and spread the good news of the gospel.

No one can do the work of God effectively unless they are called and anointed, and empowered by the Holy Spirit. Some may presume to do the work of God in their own strength and power, but will bear little or no fruit for God's glory. Some may seek to serve God for their own personal gain or glory, and some for filthy lucre.

In our battle for the Lord we will face all manner of evil and unclean spirits. we must draw our power from Christ in order to combat this evil and  receive deliverance from the power of Satan.

There are no more apostles today, but we who are born again Christians are all disciples who are called of God to go to the lost sheep in our own families, and neighborhoods, and deliver the message of salvation so that sin sick souls can be delivered from their spiritual diseases and be healed.

Christ's commission to us today is no different than it was when he spoke to his twelve disciples and gave them power to witness for him.

"And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of diseases." Matthew 10:1. \

"These twelve Jesus sent forth and commanded them, saying, go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not, but go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel, and as ye go, preach, saying, the kingdom of heaven is at hand. Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give. Provide neither gold, nor silver, nor brass in your purses; nor script for your journey, neither two coats, neither shoes, nor yet staves for the workman is worthy of his meat. And into whatsoever city or town ye shall enter, enquire who in it is worthy; and there abide till ye go thence, and when ye come into a house salute it. And if the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it: but if it not be worthy, let your peace return to you. And whosoever shall not receive you nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet. Verily I say unto you, it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorra in the day of judgment, than for that city." Matthew 10: 5-15.

No Escape!

Thought for Today - February 23, 2024

No Escape!

By:  Robert A. Searles

There is no escape from the knowledge and presence of God, whether we are the saved, born again children of God, or otherwise.  Saved or lost, God almighty searches us, and knows us by name.

"O Lord, thou hast searched me, and known me."  Psalm 139: 1

Thou knowest my down sitting and mine uprising. Thou understandest my thoughts  afar off." Psalm 139: 2.

The atheist and fool may deny that God exists and has knowledge of us and all of our doings ,but the truth remains that God is and ever more shall be, and he will,in his own good time reward the righteous, and  bring righteous judgment on the wicked.  Therefore,we need to be very careful of what we speak with our tongue.

"For there is not a word in my tongue but, lo, thou knowest it altogether." Psalm 139: 4

There is no place that we can go to hide from the love of God, nor from the wrath of God.  The love and protection of God, or the wrath and judgment of God is determined by our own free will and choosing.  God has offered to all of us the choice of life, or death.  Whichever one we choose is our own individual responsibility.  When we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and savior, we have chosen life, but if we reject him we will have chosen eternal death.

"Such knowledge is too wonderful for me: it is high, I cannot attain unto it. Wither shall I go from thy spirit? Or wither shall I flee from thy presence ?  If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: If I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.  If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.  If I say, surely the darkness shall cover me: even the night shall be light about me.  Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day. the darkness and the light are both alike to thee." Psalm 139: 6-12.

Since we are  warned that we are under the constant surveillance of God, this is comforting assurance of the love and protection of the born again child of God, but for the lost unbeliever, it is a fearful warning of that which  they will have to give an account at the great white throne of God's judgment seat, unless they repent and turn to Jesus.

We all need to search our own souls to see if we are comfortable with that which God sees in us, or if we need to confess and make things right with God through Christ.

"Search me, O God, and know my heart. Try me, and know my thoughts: and see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting."Psalm 139: 23-24

The Folly of Trusting Riches

Thought For Today   - October 2                                                                                                                 The Folly of Trusting Riches - By: Robert A. Searles

"Hear this, all ye people; give ear, all ye inhabitants of the world; both low and high, rich and poor, together." Psalm 49: 1,2"

"Wherefore should I fear in  the days of evil, when the iniquity of my heels shall compass me about ?" Psalm 49: 5

"They that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches; none of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom  for him: that he should still live forever and not see corruption." Psalm 49: 7, 9

"What man is he that liveth, and shall not see death?  Shall he deliver his soul from the hand of the grave? Selah" Psalm 89: 48

"For he seeth that wise men die, like unto the fool and the brutish person perish and leave their wealth to others." Psalm 49: 10

"Their inward thought is, that their houses shall continue forever, and their  dwelling places to all generations; they call  their lands after their own names" Psalm 49: 11

"Like sheep they are laid in the grave; death shall feed on them; and the upright shall have dominion over them in the morning; and their beauty shall consume in the grave from their dwelling." Psalm49: 14

"But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave; for he shall receive me." Selah. Psalm 49: 18

"Man that is in honor, and understandeth not, is like the beast that perish." Psalm 49: 20

It is God, and God alone who gives the power to get wealth. All riches received from him is great blessing and meant to be shared and enjoyed; but riches accumulated through devious ways apart from any thought of God is unprofitable and will usually bring folly and a curse.

God, the King of the Earth

Thought for Today - September 28

God, The King of the Earth - By: Robert  A. Searles

"O clap your hands all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph." Psalm47. 1

"For ye shall go out with joy and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you unto singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands." Isaiah 55: 12

"For the Lord most high is terrible: he is a great king over all the earth." Psalm 47: 2

"He shall cut off the spirit of princes; he is terrible  to the kings of the earth." Psalm 76: 12

".........I am a great king, saith the Lord of hosts, and my name is dreadful among the heathen." Mal 1: 14

"He shall subdue the people under us, and the nations  under our feet." Psalm 47: 3

"Sing praises to God, sing praises;sing praises unto our king; sing praises Psalm 47: 6

"For God is the king of all the earth: sing ye praise with understanding." Psalm 47: 7

" God reigneth over the heathen. God sitteth upon the throne of his holiness." Psalm 47: 8

Dare anyone contradict that God is King and ruler of all the earth ?

Know this all people, all ye presidents; all legislators; all governors ;all who are in authority; God will have his way eventually in all situations. God is King of all the Earth. Praise God!

God's Promise of His Peace

Thought for Today - February 11

 God's Promise of His Peace

By: Robert A. Searles

"Peace! Peace! wonderful peace, coming down from the father above." - so the  song writer has written.  Only the people of God can experience true peace as it is given by God the father through Jesus Christ  to those whom he has anointed.  The unsaved world knows nothing of true peace.

"The Lord will give strength unto his people, the Lord will bless his people with peace." Psalm 29: 11

God is the saving strength of his people, and his people know it.

"Now know I that the Lord saveth his anointed; he will  hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his righteousness."  Psalm 20: 6

God has  promised perfect peace to us when we have our minds fixed on him, and that which he accomplished for us on the cross.

"Thou will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on thee because he trusted in thee." Isaiah 26:3

"Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you; not as the world giveth, give I unto you.  Let noit your heart be troubled, neither let it  be afraid." John 14: 27

"And the peace of God which passeth all understanding shall keep your heart, and minds through Christ Jesus." Phil 4:7

"And let the peace of God rule in your hearts to the which also ye are called in one body and be ye thankful." Col 3: 15

"Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ by whom also we have access by faith unto this grace wherein  we stand and rejoice in hope of the glory of God." Rom 5: 1,2

"For he is our peace, who hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us." Epesh 2: 14

"Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace always by all means.  The Lord be with yu all." 2 Thes 3: 16

Evil Shall Slay the Wicked !

By: Robert A. Searles

In the unseen spiritual realm of the heavenlies, there is a war raging between the wicked and the righteous.

"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers; against the rulers of the darkness of the world; against spiritual wickedness in high places." Ephes 6: 12

Demonic, evil spirits are at work, now, more intensely, it seems, than ever before  to destroy our nation and the lifestyle of the righteous.  We can see this happening now by the ungodly and wicked policies being proposed by the present administration in Washington.  Churches are  required to limit the number of people that are allowed to assemble; freedom of speech is being restrained;  some of our constitutional rights are being violated.  Those of us who still enjoy conservative ideals are being branded as the enemies of the people.

Unless God intervenes, and we his children enlist in his spiritual army, and train ourselves in the use of our weapons of spiritual warfare, I am concerned that our country as we have known it is doomed to become the tail and not the head of all the nations of the world.

"For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God in the pulling down of strongholds.  Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ."

Praise God! We have the promise of God that the wicked shall be eventually destroyed by their own evil.

"Evil shall slay the wicked and they that hate the righteous shall be destroyed.  The Lord redeemeth the soul of his servants; and none of them that trust in him shall  be desolate." Psalm 34: 21,22

"Many are the afflictions of the rightreous, but the Lord delivereth him out of them all." Psalm 34: 19

Thus Saith the Lord !

By: Robert A. Searles

"Let all the earth fear the Lord; Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him, for he spake and it was done; he commanded and it stood fast.  The Lord bringeth  the counsel  of the heathen to nought; he maketh the devices of the people of none effect." Psalm33: 8, 9, 10

"BLESSED IS THE NATION WHOSE GOD IS THE LORD, AND THE PEOPLE WHOM HE HATH CHOSEN OF HIS OWN INHERITANCE." PSALM 33: 12

"Ye have seen what I did unto the Egyptians, and  how I bore you on eagles' wings and brought you to myself." Exodus 19: 4

"Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people, for the earth is mine." Exodus 19: 4,5

"For thou art an holy people unto the Lord, thy God; the Lord God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself above all people that are upon the face of the earth." Deut 7: 6

Thus saith the Lord - spoken first to Israel - and then, to America perhaps ? ?  Up until the present time, America has been a friend of Israel. I wonder if it will continue from this point on.  God has special blessings for all who will befriend his chosen people.

May God bless Israel, and may God bless America!

Blessed!

Thought for Today - Septembe 5

 Blessed!

By: Robert A. Searles

"Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.  Blessed is the man unto whom the Lord imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile." Psalm 32: 1, 2

"Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from  trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah.  I will instruct thee and teach  thee  in the way which thou shalt go. I will guide thee with mine eye." Psalm 32: 7, 8

"Many sorrows shall be to the wicked; but he that trusteth in the Lord, mercy shall compass him about.  Be glad in the Lord, and rejoice ye righteous, and shout for joy, all ye that are upright in heart." Psalm 32: 10,11

How about it, my friends, are you among the blessed of the Lord?  Have all your transgressions been forgiven?  Is all your sin covered? Do you have a secret hiding place where you can go, and God  will preserve you from  all trouble, and cause you to sing songs of deliverance?  Do you have a heavenly, spiritual "GPS"system, managed by God the Father, which will instruct you and teach you the way in which you should go?  Do you allow the eye of God to guide you?

All these blessings  are available to all who will believe, and call upon the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation.  If you will, you can be glad in the Lord and rejoice, and shout for joy, and be greatly blessed.

How Great is Thy Goodness,O Lord!

Thought for Today - February 2

How Great is Thy Goodness, O Lord!

By: Robert A. Searles

"Let the lying lips be put to silence;which  speak grievous things proudly and contemptuosly against the righteous." Psalm 31: 18

"Oh how great is thy goodness, which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee; which  thou hast wrought for them that trust in thee before the sons of men. Thou shall hide them  in the secret of thy presence from the pride of men; thou shalt keep them secretly in a pavilion from the strife of tongues.Blessed be the Lord for he hath shewed me his marvelous kindness in a strong city." Psalm 31:19-21

"O love the Lord, all ye his saints: for the Lord preserveth the faithful, and plentifully rewardeth the proud doer.  Be of good courage, and he shall strength your heart, all ye that hope in the Lord." Psalm 31: 23, 24
