Thought for Today - November 3
Cry Unto God! - By: Robert A. Searles
When we are in deep trouble and in danger of falling into the depths of despair, and when we sincerely call upon God for help, he hears us and delivers us.
David, the King of Israel, called unto the Lord for help when he found himself in the depths of sin, and he declared how God heard him, and delivered him out of the depth of trouble.
"Out of the depths have I cried unto thee, O Lord." Psalm 130:1
Jeremiah, the prophet, cried unto the Lord when he was in prison in the dungeon.
"I called upon thy name, O Lord, out of the low dungeon. Thou hast heard my voice: hide not thine ear at my breathing, at my cry. Thou drew near in the day that I called upon thee: thou said, fear not." Lamentations 3:55-57
Jonah cried unto the Lord from the belly of the fish, and God heard him and he was delivered.
"Now the Lord had prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonah. And Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights" Jonah 1:17
"Then Jonah prayed unto the Lord his God out of the fish's belly, and said I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the Lord and he heard me, out of the belly of hell cried I, and thou heardest my voice." Jonah 2:2,3
When David cried out to God for help, he confessed his sin and asked for forgiveness
"Lord, hear my voice: Let thine ears be attentive to the voice of my
supplication. If thou Lord should mark iniquity, O Lord, who shall stand? But there is forgiveness with thee, that thou may be feared." Psalm 130:4
Then David waited and trusted in the Lord.
"I will wait for the Lord; my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope." Psalm 130:5
"My soul waits for the Lord more than they that watch for the morning: I say more than they that watch for the morning." Psalm 130.5,6
David cried unto the Lord; David waited for the Lord, and he worshiped and praised the Lord for that which he knew the Lord would do for him, and for Israel.
"Let Israel hope in the Lord, for with the Lord there is mercy, and with him is plenteous redemption. and he shall redeem Israel from all his iniquities." Psalm 130:8
Jeremiah's testimony - "It is of the Lord's mercy that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning. Great is thy faithfulness. The Lord is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.The Lord is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him. It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the
Lord." Lamentations 3:22-26
When Jonah was delivered by the grace of God, he repented and obeyed God to go and preach to the people of Nineveh.
When David, Jeremiah, and Jonah and many others found themselves in trouble, they cried unto the Lord and he delivered them all.
Today our beloved country, the United States of America, is in great danger of being destroyed . We as a nation are on the precipice of our future destiny. We as a people will have decided as to what side of the precipice this nation shall fall, whether down into the pit of anarchy, socialism and darkness where there is gross immorality, and the murder of millions of unborn babies, and the removal of any worship of the God that we know. or will we by the grace of God, continue to shine as the light of the world as a great free glorious nation under God.
We as Christians (and I emphasis the WE which includes myself as well as all others) can be the influence which pushes our country over the cliff in the right direction. We must be like David, Jeremiah, Jonah, and others who when sinking into the depth of despair cried unto God for help. We must cry out to God in our prayers, repent and change our wicked ways, wait on God, and worship God in spirit and in truth. Remember "The heart of the king is in the hand of the Lord." and, the next time we have an opportunity to vote. We as Christians, must be sure to cry out to God for wisdom and VOTE THE BIBLE. Amen!

Be Not a Scoffer!
Proud and haughty man thou art who scorneth the Word of God. Know you not, O small and insignificant entity in comparison with the whole, that it was the Word of God that established the heaven and the earth and created you? At the command of the Word of God there was light, and the light over came the darkness.
My dear friend, as an ambassador on earth for Christ, I want to warn you, if you by chance read these words and your first inclination is to scoff at and scorn the Word of God – according to the very word of God, you will not be dead a split second before you will be lamenting the fact that you did not take heed to the Word of God when it warned you that you, like all other people, have sinned and come short of the glory of God.

Thought For Today - October 27
Walking with God!
By: Robert A. Searles
Fellow Christians, let us examine ourselves, are we walking each day
with God? Is he our constant companion wherever we go, and whatever we
do? Do we go anywhere, or do anything that we could not go or do in the
companionship of God? Are we really walking with God, or is he just
tagging along behind because we have put ourselves, and other things
ahead of him?
He
has promised never to leave us, nor forsake us; but we are guilty of
ignoring his presence with us, because sometimes we want to indulge
ourselves - we want to go places, and do things, and be involved in
things that we know God will not be a part of because he is Holy and
righteous.
"Enoch walked with God for three hundred years and begat sons and
daughters, and all the days of Enoch were three hundred and sixty five
years; and Enoch walked with God and he was not for God took him."
According to Genesis 5: 22,23,24.
Three hundred years is a long time to walk with God, but God and Enoch
must have had a glorious time together, because their relationship was
so intimate that Enoch was the first person to be raptured. One day God
and Enoch were so involved in each other's company, that suddenly Enoch
was not, for God took him.
God gives special favors and privileges and honors to those who will
choose to walk with him, to deny self, and to forsake places, and
things, and companions that are not pleasing to God.
"Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord. Noah was a just man and
perfect in all his generations, and Noah walked with God." Gen 6: 8, 9.
Noah was given the honor of preserving life on planet earth during the
flood.
To walk with God, we must agree with God in all points. "Can two walk
together except they be agreed?" He that would walk with God must
believe and agree that he is, and that he rewards all those who
diligently seek him. Without faith it is impossible to please God.
To
walk with God, we must agree with God when he says: "there is none
righteous, no, not one." Rom 3: 10. And,” All have sinned and come short
of the glory of God." Rom 3: 23. And,” The wages of sin is death, but
the gift of God is everlasting life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Rom
6: 23.
To
walk with God we must agree with God that these words apply to us, and
declare with Paul, that we are chief among sinners, but the blood of
Jesus Christ cleanses us from all sin. "For God so loved the world that
he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth in him should not
perish, but have everlasting life." John 3: 16.
To walk with God, we must agree with God that our standing with him does
not come as a result of our good works, or our own righteousness, but:
"By grace are ye saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, not of
works lest any man should boast." Ephesians 2: 8,9.
God made people in his own image to walk with him. This is our calling
as the ultimate creation of God. "Whosoever will may come." Jesus said.
"All who come to me I will in no wise cast out. He hath shewed thee, O
man, what is good: and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do
justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God." Micah 6:8.
"For
the eyes of the Lord run to and fro through out the whole earth to show
himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward
him." 2 Chron 16: 9. "He cutteth out rivers among the rocks; and his eye
seeth every precious thing." Job 28:10. "The Lord is in his holy
temple, the Lord's throne is in heaven; his eyes behold, his eyelids try
the children of men." Psalm 11:4.
"Behold.
the eye of the Lord is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in
his mercy, to deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in
famine." Psalm 33: 18,19 . "The eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and
his ears are open unto their prayers; but the face of the Lord is
against them that do evil." 1 Peter 3: 12.
Beware, we are under constant surveillance. We are constantly being
watched. Shakespeare said: "All the world is a stage and men and women
merely players." What he should have said is that men and women are like
microbes under God's microscope, although God does not need a
microscope to see all the hidden things of men's heart, his eyes are
sufficient.
We are being watched by the Lord ,,and all the host of heaven, to see
what our choices will be in any given situation. the Lord's eyes are
searching for the person who will choose to walk humbly with him and
honor him. God does not overlook anything that he finds to be precious
in his sight. God is ready and pleased to reward righteousness and
faithfulness when he finds it.
My fellow Christian, if you have been saved by the precious blood of
the Lord Jesus Christ, won't you come out of hiding, as it were, and
make yourself known to the world as a Christian, hating sin as God hates
sin, but loving the sinner as God loves sinners. Let the redeemed of
the Lord say so, and glorify God. Fellow Christian, God gives you a
free will to choose good or evil, life or death. This old world in
which we live is on its' last legs. Sin and corruption and wickedness
prevail everywhere, and even our own beloved country is ripe for the
judgment of God. We, who are called the children of God, must choose to
walk with God moment by moment, and day by day, and put on the uniform
of the redeemed child of God. As a good soldier of Jesus Christ, we must
not become so entangled with the things of this life that we would be
handicapped in the army of the Lord. If you have tasted and seen that
the Lord is good and merciful, and that he has raised you up out of the
miry pit, how can you not with gratitude, present yourselves a living
sacrifice to God which is your reasonable service, that you might walk
with him, and that he might cleanse you and fill you with his spirit,
and completely take over your entire being, so that you might be an
instrument in his hand ;so that he might work a good work in you and
through you as he did with Enoch and Noah, and all the other saints down
through the ages who chose to walk with God.
The bible teaches us that the Lord Jesus Christ is coming again, and
when he comes, he will have with him crowns and rewards for those who
were willing to choose to obey him, to hear his call, and go forth to
battle for his glory. Fellow Christian, right now as you read this
message, you are of necessity making a choice. What will it be?

Exalt The Lord Our God!
Thought For Today - October 21
Exalt The Lord Our God - By: Robert A. Searles
“The Lord reigneth; let the people tremble: he sitteth between the c erubim; let the earth be moved.” Psalm 99:1
" Exalt ye the Lord our God, and worship at his footstool, for he is Holy.” Psalm 99: 5 .
We must worship God in spirit and in truth. We worship God in our thought life – by what we think about God. We worship God in our speech – by what we say about God. We worship God by our actions – in what we do to glorify and to serve God. If God is our God, then he deserves our worship. He deserves to be the chief object of our thought life. He deserves to be the chief subject of our conversation. . He deserves to be the one for whom we work and perform
“Exalt the Lord our God, and worship at at his holy hill; for the Lord our God is Holy.” Psalm 99: 9

Who Will Sit at Thy Table, Lord?
Thought for Today - October 19
Who Will Sit At Thy Table, Lord? - By: Robert A. Searles
My
Father, and my God, as you have fed me in the past, so feed me today
that I might be strong in thee, and that I might grow to be like thine
only begotten son, the Lord Jesus Christ. You have offered me the bread
of life, help me not to neglect to eat it. You have said: “come and
dine”.
Lord
let me sit at thy table forever and enjoy the fatness of thy house.
Thy table is spread with love; with truth; with mercy and grace.
The blood which was shed for me is in the cup, and I am invited to drink
thereof. The bread was broken on the cross, and Satan's head was
crushed unto death, and this bread is set before me to sustain me
forever.
Who
are they that sit at thy table? They may sit at thy table who will
believe that God is, and is a rewarder of all that seek him; those who
know that God is spirit and must be worshiped in spirit and in truth;
those who believe that Jesus is the Christ, the divine son of God who
came into the world to offer his life a ransom for many who were lost.
They will sit at thy table who will confess and agree with God that
they are sinners and need a savior, and by faith receive Christ as their
Savior, believing and confessing that Christ died for their sins, and
that he was buried and rose again the third day according to the
scriptures.
This
is the gospel, and all who will believe it and confess it are those who
will sit at thy table.
“Blessed is the man whom thou choosest, and causest to approach
unto thee, that he may dwell in thy courts, we shall be satisfied with
the goodness of thy house, even of thy holy temple.” Psalm 65: 4.

Pressing Forward
Thought for Today - October 17
Pressing Forward
By: Robert A. Searles
This
is the first day of the rest of our lives. Having come before our Lord
this morning in prayer, and according to his faithfulness to cleanse
and forgive, having received forgiveness and cleansing, let us begin at
the place where we are at this moment, forgetting those things which are
behind and reach forward to those things which are before us. We can
do nothing about what has passed except to ask God to forgive us for our
sins and short coming, but by God's grace and enabling power, we can if
we will, take that which we have now and “Press toward the mark for the
prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 3: 14.
What
is the prize of the high calling of God? The prize of the high calling
of God is: “That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and
the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;
if by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.”
Philippians 3:10 -11
The prize of the high calling of God is our
Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ: “Who shall change our vile body, that it
may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working
whereby he is able to subdue all things unto himself.” Philippians
3:-21.

Light Up the World!
Thought for Today - September 23
Light Up The World - By: Robert A. Searles
Let us Christians who love Christ shine as lights in the world,
illuminating the darkness with our presence, and put to shame every evil
thing because it is God who worketh in us to perform his good works.
We ought to work for God with fear and trembling. We work for earthly
employers with fear and trembling, fear of loss of rewards if we fail to
perform as we are expected. Much more we ought to work for God with
fear of loss of much greater rewards if we fail to perform for him as we
as Christians are expected. We who are saved need to be diligent
workers for the Lord.
“Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have
always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my
absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it is
God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
Do all things without murmurings and disputings: That ye may be
blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of
a CROOCKED AND PERVERSE NATION among whom ye shine as lights in the
world; holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of
Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither labored in vain.”
Philippians 2: 12-16.

Lifestyle of Christians
Thought for Today - October 15
Lifestyle of Christians
By: Robert A. Searles
The lifestyle of all Christians ought to be such as becometh the gospel
of Christ. Our lives ought to be honoring to Christ in every way. The
way we think; the way we speak; the way we act; ought to manifest the
life of the Holy Spirit who dwells within us. All truly born again
Christians are supernaturally bound together by the indwelling Holy
Spirit, and ought to stand fast with one mind striving together for the
faith of the gospel. Christians ought to expect to be treated by the
world and the enemies of Christ in the same manner as Christ was treated
by the world. If the world did not want to accept the lifestyle of
Christ, then we cannot expect the world to be engrossed by our lifestyle
if indeed Christ lives in us.
“Only let your conversation
be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you,
or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in
one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the
gospel. And in nothing terrified by your adversaries: which is to them
an evident token of perdition, but to you of salvation, and that of
God. For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to
believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake; having the same
conflict which ye saw in me, and now hear to be in me.” Philippians 1:
27-30.

Have Faith in God!
Thought For Today - October 14
Have Faith In God
By: Robert A. Searles
“Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to
quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.” Ephesians 6: 16.
God honors the faith of the believer towards himself. We are justified by faith and the just shall live by faith.
Faith
toward God is resting our confidence on him who is invisible whom we
have not seen, but believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of all
them that diligently seek him. Abraham believed God and it was counted
to him for righteousness.
Confidence in the reality of God and his goodness will enable us to put
aside all doubts and fears, and the fiery darts of the wicked, and give
us the strength and power we need to overcome the world.
By
faith in God the Red Sea was crossed successfully by the Israelites;
by faith in God many victories have been won. By faith in God we who
are his children shall arrive safely on the opposite shore and see Jesus
and be reunited with those who have gone before. Have faith in God, he
cannot fail. Have faith dear friend in God.

Go About Doing Good!
Thought for Today - October 13
Go About Doing Good
By: Robert A. Searles
As Christ our Lord went about doing good, we Christians ought to be
continuing the work and ministry of our Lord by going about doing
good.
Christ
was in the world offering salvation to all who would believe and
receive him. He gave rest to the weary and comforted the lonely; he
healed the sick and raised the dead, and brought new hope to the
hopeless.
We
ought to continue doing all that God will give us the power to do so
that Christ's work and ministry might continue through us. God may not
give us the power to heal the sick or raise the dead (he could if it was
his purpose), but he has commissioned us to offer salvation to the lost
through his name and to bear each other's burdens, and to share each
other's sorrows and joys, and to make life easier for those around us.
We ought to be so secure in our own salvation and the love of God that
we can forget ourselves and concentrate on the needs of others.
“With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men; knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether he be bond or free.” Ephesians 6: 7, 8 .
God will be no man's debtor, we cannot out give or out serve the Lord. When we go about doing good in the service of the Lord, we will find ourselves in a combat zone with all the forces of the devil against us. We must put on the armor and use all the defenses that God has provided for us.
“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all to stand.” Ephesians 6: 10-13

ABUNDANT SALVATION
By: Robert A. Searles
They that abound in the salvation of God through Christ are the light
of the world. They bring the light of hope into a dark and dying
world which is filled with sin and darkness. The faithful become
radiant as stars.
“And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the
firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for
ever and ever.” Daniel 12:3.
They who abound in salvation and faithfully serve the Lord out of
love and gratitude for him will receive a royal welcome in heaven.
“Then shall the king say unto them on the right hand, come ye blessed
of my father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the
foundation of the world.” Math 25:34.
They who abound in salvation may be afflicted and have to suffer
trials and tribulations for a season, but our light afflictions add to
the final glory.
“For our light affliction which is but for a moment, worketh for us a
far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.” 2 Cor 4:17
Our abundant salvation through Christ assures for us a triumphant entrance into heaven.
"For
so an entrance shall be ministered unto you into the everlasting
kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” 2 Peter 1:11
The precious blood of Christ which was spilled for us to give us our
abundant salvation, guarantees us a place near to the heart of God,
and we are given a place near the throne of God.
" And one of the elders answered, saying unto me,what are these which
are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they? And I said unto him,
sir thou knowest. And he said to me, these are they which came out
of great tribulation and have washed their robes, and made them white
in the blood of the Lamb.” Rev 7: 13,14. “therefore are they before
the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple; and he
that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them.” Rev 7: 13-15 - -

Why Be Afraid When You Can Pray?
Thought for Today -February - 12
Why Be Afraid When You Can Pray?
By: Robert A. Searles
There is much fear and anxiety in our nation today because of the pandemic, the weakened economy , the loss of jobs and rise in the unemployment rate, and the results of the election. No one has all the answers for these concerns. So, where do we go? What do we do? Where shall we go to find the answers?
May I suggest that there is only one person in all the universe who has the solution to all of the above named concerns? His name is Jesus of Nazareth, the Christ, the Messiah of Israel, the coming king, the divine son of God almighty, God himself in human flesh while he was here on earth. He is the Lord of all, so, the word of God tells us to fear not, but to cast all our burdens and cares upon the Lord and leave them there, and go in peace. Jesus has said- "fear not, my peace I give unto you." Now then, let us look at some of the promises that God has given us to comfort us when our enemy, Satan showers us with fear and anxiety.
"I will both lay me down in peace and sleep: for the Lord only maketh me to dwell in safety>" Psalm 4:8
"I laid me down and slept: I awaked: for the Lord sustained me." Psalm 3:5 "And
I will give peace in the land, and you shall lie down, and none shall make you afraid; and I will rid evil beasts out of the land, neither shall the sword go through your land." Lev 26: 6
"When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet." Prov 3: 24
"Say to them that are of a fearful heart: be strong, fear not, behold, your God will come with vengence, even God with a recompence: he will come and save you." Isaiah 35: 4
"Nay, in all these things we are more thn conquerors through him that loved us." Rom 8:37\
"For God hath not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind." 2 Tim 1:7
"So that we my boldly say, the Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me."Heb 13: 6
"The Lord is my light and my salvation. Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life, of whom shall I be afraid." Psalm 27: 1
In view of all these promises we have from the word of God, let us turn away from the fears of an ungodly world, and come, let us sing unto the Lord and experience the peace and joy of the Lord.
"O come let us sing unto the Lord, let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation" Psalm 95: 1
"Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands" Psalm 100: 1
"The Lord liveth, and bless be my rock, and exalted be the God of my salvation." 2 Sam 22: 17
"For the Lord is a great God, and a great king above all gods." "O come let us worship and bow down, let us kneel before the Lord our maaker." Psalm 95: 6
"For he is our God; and we are the sheep of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand; today if ye will hear his voice, harden not your heart, as in the provocation, and as in the day of temptation in the wilderness.. Psalm 7, 8
Now let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter and make our nation great in the sight of God :
"If my people which are called by my name, shall humble themselves aand pray and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." 2 Chronicles 7: 14

Have A Good Forever!
Thought for Today - September 4
Have A Good Forever
By: Robert A. Searles
Dear Reader:
A wise person is one who makes preparation for the future. Have you
thought about your future? You CAN have an abundant life and a “good
forever” if you WILL, it's all up to you. The right to choose has been
given to you by a loving heavenly Father who, being rich, became poor
that you might become rich. What will your future be like?
If you knew that you had only a few more hours to live and at this time
tomorrow you would be somewhere in eternity, wouldn't you want to know
that you were “right” with God? Wouldn't you want to have truth and
justice on your side?
We all must die sooner or later. Some
will die today. It could be your time today. If you were to die
today, do you know for sure where you will spend eternity?
“And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the
judgment” (Hebrews 9:27), where will you stand at the last judgment of
God? “Boast not thyself of tomorrow; for thou knowest not what a day
may bring forth.” (Proverbs 27: 1.
An important man in the
eyes of the world once asked, “What is truth?” Unfortunately, he did
not wait for the answer. God is true, and the Word of God is truth. We
are surrounded by darkness and uncertainties, but the light from heaven
shines
forth the truth of God to give us light to dispel the darkness and bring us good news and hope.
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word
was God. The same was in the beginniung with God All things were made
by him: and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him
was life: and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in
darkness and the darkness comprehended it not.” (John 1: 1-5)
“And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, ( and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father),
full of grace and truth.” (John 1:14)
“He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew
him not. He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as
many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God,
even to them that believe on his name.” (John 1: 10-12.
The
“Word made flesh” is none other than the Lord Jesus Christ, the only
begotten, divine son of God, who is one with the Father. He came into
the world to reveal to us the Father and to lay down his life for the
sins of all mankind. The Word of God says that all people are sinners
from birth, and are separated from God. If they remain in this
condition, they will be forever separated from God and will go to hell.
“As it is written, there is none righteous, no, not one: there is none
that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.” (Romans 3:
10,11)
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” ( Romans 3: 23.)
“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 6: 23)
The Word of God also tells us that whosoever will believe in his heart
that Jesus Christ is the divine son of God (virgin born), and that he
laid down his life on the cross and shed his blood to pay for the sins
of individuals; whosoever will believe that God hath raised him from
the dead and that he ever liveth to make intercession for us; whosoever
will call upon the Lord Jesus Christ from his heart, repent, and turn
away from sin and invite the Lord Jesus Christ to come live in his heart
shall be saved. He will be “born again” into the family of God and
will become a child of God.
Jesus said: “Verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” ( John 3: 3.)
The Philippian jailer asked, “What must I do to be saved?” The answer:
“Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved, and thy
house.” (Acts 16: 30,31)
“And it shall come to pass, that
whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Acts 2:
21).“Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other
name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” (Acts
4:12).
“He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that
believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the
name of the only begotten son of God.” (John 3: 18).
The one
and only thing that can determine your destiny for all eternity is what
you do with Jesus Christ, God's gift of love to you. The one and only
thing that can seal your doom in hell is your rejection of the only
begotten son of God. God is not willing for you to spend eternity in
hell apart from him. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only
begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but
have everlasting life.” (John 3: 16).
What will you do with
Jesus Christ? He is the only one that has the power to save you and give
you eternal life. What would you do with him if you knew that this was
your very last day on earth? Salvation is by the grace of God alone,
not by good deeds, nor good morals, nor by good intentions.
“For by grace are ye saved through faith, and that not of yourselves:
it is the gift of God, not of works, lest any man should boast.”
(Ephesians 2: 8, 9).
How can you be sure that you are
saved? Confess, and agree with God that you are a sinner by birth, and
by choice, and that you fall far short of what God intended for you to
be. Repent – be truly sorry for this fact and have a genuine desire in
your heart to change the direction of your life and live for God. Ask
God's forgiveness, pray this simple prayer to God: - “God, be merciful
to me a sinner, and save me for Christ's sake.” Gratefully receive by
faith God's pardon. Appropriate to yourself the atoning power of the
cross and the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of
your sins. Trust God to do the rest. What is the next step?
Tell someone that you have trusted in the shed blood of the Lord Jesus
Christ for your salvation, it could be your wife, your husband, your
children, your parents, your friends, or anyone. Write to us and let us
know. We will rejoice with you. The Word of God says: “That if thou
shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine
heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For
with the heart man believeth unto rigfhteousness: and with the mouth
confession is made unto salvation.” (Romans 10: 9,10).
As a
newborn child of God, you ought to seek the fellowship of other born
again children of God, preferably in an independent ,fundamental,
bible-teaching church, for the purpose of worship, study, and service.
Within the fellowship of a local church, you ought to follow the Lord in
believer's baptism, by immersion, as a testimony of the death of the
old person, and resurrection to newness of life in Christ: going down
into the water in the likeness of Christ's death, and being raised up
out of the water in the likeness of his resurrection. You ought to
attend services on a regular basis In order to grow In grace and
knowledge of the word of God, and be a regular partaker of the Lord's
supper or communion as a memorial of what the Lord has done for you.
You ought to obtain a copy of a good translation of the word of God,
the bible, (I recommend the King James version), and read and study it
daily and allow the Holy Spirit to instruct you and cause you to grow in
the things of the Lord.
May God Bless you in your new Christian life.
