2025 PASSOVER SEDERS—Jews celebrate it this year on the evenings of April 12-19. What is it? And how does it relate to followers of Jesus Christ?
The mind of sinful man is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace; the sinful mind is hostile to God. It does not submit to God's law, nor can it do so. Those controlled by the sinful nature cannot please God. Romans 8:6-8 (NIV)
Ephesians 2:8-9 KJV 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Jesus is waiting at the portals of heaven calling, O sinner come home.
A praying Christian mother sadly watches her son or daughter choose the
ways of the world and reject the love of God, and home and family.
A Godly father eagerly scans the horizon, and prays that he might catch a
glimse of the wandering prodigal returning to the fold.
The hymn writer says it beautifully -"softly and tenderly Jesus is
calling....time is now fleeting, death beds are coming, coming for you
and for me.....calling O sinner, come home.
Prodigal Son or daughter - No matter how far you may have wandered away
from the love of God -your parents - or family- while you live it is
never too late. You can always come back home. Watch and listen to the
video.

My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments: For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee. Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart: So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man. Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil. It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones. Honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase: So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine. 1 My son, despise not the chastening of the Lord; neither be weary of his correction: For whom the Lord loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.
Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding. For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold. She is more precious than rubies: and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her. Length of days is in her right hand; and in her left hand riches and honour. Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace. She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: and happy is every one that retaineth her. The Lord by wisdom hath founded the earth; by understanding hath he established the heavens. By his knowledge the depths are broken up, and the clouds drop down the dew.
My son, let not them depart from thine eyes: So shall they be life unto thy soul, and grace to thy neck. Then shalt thou walk in thy way safely, and thy foot shall not stumble. When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet. Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh. For the Lord shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken.
Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it. 2 Say not unto thy neighbour, Go, and come again, and to morrow I will give; when thou hast it by thee. 29 Devise [5] not evil against thy neighbour, seeing he dwelleth securely by thee. Strive not with a man without cause, if he have done thee no harm. Envy thou not the oppressor, and choose none of his ways. For the froward is abomination to the Lord: but his secret is with the righteous. The curse of the Lord is in the house of the wicked: but he blesseth the habitation of the just. Surely he scorneth the scorners: but he giveth grace unto the lowly. The wise shall inherit glory: but shame shall be the promotion of fools. Proverbs 3:11 - 35

Are we our brother's keeper? Is it our responsibility as the redeemed children of God to warn and restore those who are overtaken by the world, the flesh, and the devil and have fallen by the wayside?
What does the word of God say is our responsibility as our brother's keeper?
" When
I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not
warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save
his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood
will I require at thine hand.Yet
if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from
his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered
thy soul. Again,
When a righteous man doth turn from his righteousness, and commit
iniquity, and I lay a stumbling-block before him, he shall die: because
thou hast not given him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his
righteousness which he hath done shall not be remembered; but his blood
will I require at thine hand." Ezekiel 3: 18-24
" Brothers
and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit
should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may
be tempted. Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. If anyone thinks they are something when they are not, they deceive themselves. Each
one should test their own actions. Then they can take pride in
themselves alone, without comparing themselves to someone else, for each one should carry their own load. Nevertheless, the one who receives instruction in the word should share all good things with their instructor. Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. Whoever
sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction;
whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal
life. 9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. 10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers". Galations 6: 1-10

Jesus extended an invitation to all who are weary and heavy laden to
come unto him, and he would give them rest. He came into the world to
be our burden bearer and our sin bearer.
"Surely he hath borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God and afflicted." Isaiah 53: 4 "That it might be fulfilled which was spoken of Esaias the prophet, saying, himself took our infirmities, and bare our sickness." Matthew 8: 17
What burdens lay heavy on our souls today? Is it the burden of none
confessed, none forgiven sin? Is it the burden of doubts and fears,
or the burden of sickness and immanent death? Do we grieve today
over the loss of family, friends, or loved ones? Are we perplexed, not
knowing where to turn or what road to take to solve our problems? Are
we overly concerned about how we will meet the challenges of the
future?
Jesus stands ready to make an exchanges of burdens. If we are willing to lay all our cares and burdens upon him, he will bear them for us, but we in exchanges must be willing to put his yoke upon our shoulders and be busy for him. When we are yoked together with him,he is bearing the heavier part of the load and our burdens become lighter. We are told to take our burdens to the Lord and leave them there. Burdens are lifted at Calvary.
Jesus said: "Come unto me all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart; and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and , my burden light."Matthew 11: 28-30

Where do we Live ? Do we live by the demands and desires of the flesh, or are we more than conquerors through Christ, and controlled and guided by the Holy Spirit? To live and be controlled by the flesh means ultimate death of both body soul and spirit. To live in the spirit means there is now no condemnation, and we will live and enjoy all the fullness of God's blessings forever.
"Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death. For what the law was powerless to do because it was weakened by the flesh God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to be a sin offering. And so he condemned sin in the flesh, in
order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fully met in
us, who do not live according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. Those
who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh
desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their
minds set on what the Spirit desires. The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. The mind governed by the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to God's law, nor can it do so. Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God. You,
however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the
Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not
have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ But if Christ is in you, then even though your body is subject to death because of sin, the Spirit gives life because of righteousness. And
if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you,
he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal
bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you. Therefore, brothers and sisters, we have an obligation-but it is not to the flesh, to live according to it. For
if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit
you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live. For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. The
Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear
again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to
sonship. And by him we cry, "Abba, Father." The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children. Now
if we are children, then we are heirs-heirs of God and co-heirs with
Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also
share in his glory. I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed. For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God. We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. Not
only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit,
groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption to sonship, the
redemption of our bodies. For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what they already have?5 But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.
In
the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what
we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through
wordless groans. And
he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the
Spirit intercedes for God's people in accordance with the will of God. More than Conquerors have been called according to his purpose. For
those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of
his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified. What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He
who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all-how will he
not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. Who
then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died-more than
that, who was raised to life-is at the right hand of God and is also
interceding for us. Who
shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or
persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written: "For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered. No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither
height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to
separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

"Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to
you, which also you received and in which you stand, by which also you
are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you — unless
you believed in vain. For I delivered to you first of all that which I
also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the
Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day
according to the Scriptures."

Dear unsaved reader - Do you want to go to heaven when you die? There is only one way in which you can enter the kingdom of God and spend eternity with God in heaven. What did Jesus say to Nicodemus? Jesus told Nicodemus that to enter the kingdom of God one must be born again. To be re-born in the spirit, and become a child of God, we must believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God, and receive him as our LORD and Savior.
" There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:
The
same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that
thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that
thou doest, except God be with him. Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.Nicodemus
saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the
second time into his mother's womb, and be born?Jesus
answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of
water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. The
wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but
canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one
that is born of the Spirit.Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be?Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things?Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness. If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things? And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven. And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For
God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that
whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He
that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is
condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only
begotten Son of God.And
this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men
loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.After these things came Jesus and his disciples into the land of Judaea; and there he tarried with them, and baptized. And John also was baptizing in Aenon near to Salim, because there was much water there: and they came, and were baptized. For John was not yet cast into prison.
Then there arose a question between some of John's disciples and the Jews about purifying.
And
they came unto John, and said unto him, Rabbi, he that was with thee
beyond Jordan, to whom thou barest witness, behold, the same baptizeth,
and all men come to him.
John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven.
Ye yourselves bear me witness, that I said, I am not the Christ, but that I am sent before him.
He
that hath the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the
bridegroom, which standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of
the bridegroom's voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled.
He must increase, but I must decrease. He
that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is
earthly, and speaketh of the earth: he that cometh from heaven is above
all.And what he hath seen and heard, that he testifieth; and no man receiveth his testimony. He that hath received his testimony hath set to his seal that God is true. For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him.The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand.He
that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth
not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him." John 3

In thee, O LORD, do I put my trust: let me never be put to confusion.Deliver me in thy righteousness, and cause me to escape: incline thine ear unto me, and save me. Be
thou my strong habitation, whereunto I may continually resort: thou
hast given commandment to save me; for thou art my rock and my fortress.Deliver me, O my God, out of the hand of the wicked, out of the hand of the unrighteous and cruel man.For thou art my hope, O Lord GOD: thou art my trust from my youth. By
thee have I been holden up from the womb: thou art he that took me out
of my mother's bowels: my praise shall be continually of thee.I am as a wonder unto many; but thou art my strong refuge.Let my mouth be filled with thy praise and with thy honour all the day.Cast me not off in the time of old age; forsake me not when my strength faileth. For mine enemies speak against me; and they that lay wait for my soul take counsel together,Saying, God hath forsaken him: persecute and take him; for there is none to deliver him.O God, be not far from me: O my God, make haste for my help.Let
them be confounded and consumed that are adversaries to my soul; let
them be covered with reproach and dishonour that seek my hurt. But I will hope continually, and will yet praise thee more and more.My mouth shall shew forth thy righteousness and thy salvation all the day; for I know not the numbers thereof.I will go in the strength of the Lord GOD: I will make mention of thy righteousness, even of thine only.O God, thou hast taught me from my youth: and hitherto have I declared thy wondrous works. Now
also when I am old and greyheaded, O God, forsake me not; until I have
shewed thy strength unto this generation, and thy power to every one
that is to come.Thy righteousness also, O God, is very high, who hast done great things: O God, I
will also praise thee with the psaltery, even thy truth, O my God: unto
thee will I sing with the harp, O thou Holy One of Israel. My lips shall greatly rejoice when I sing unto thee; and my soul, which thou hast redeemed. My
tongue also shall talk of thy righteousness all the day long: for they
are confounded, for they are brought unto shame, that seek my hurt." Psalm 71
