Does anyone Hear Our Song?

     Does anyone hear our song?  Can the world hear the voice of singing from our soul?
  Does our attitude and life style generate a referential fear and respect for God in others?
  We who have been truly saved and born again can say - "He brought me up also out  of an
 horrible pit, out  of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.
 And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and
 fear, and shall trust in the Lord." Psalm 40: 2,3 (KJV).

     When the Lord does a work of regeneration in the heart of man, the result cannot be hid,
but it will be obvious to the world that  something has happened; something has changed in
that  particular life. When the righteousness of Christ has been impiuted to us and his spirit
is implanted in our heart, then his light will shine as a candle in a dark corner.  The goodness
and mercy and salvation of God will be seen through our lives and our song of praise ought to
 be heard.  Does anyone hear our song?

    "I have not  hid thy righteousness within my heart; I have declared thy faithfulness and thy
 salvation:  I have not concealed thy loving kindnes and thy truth from the great congregation."
 Psalm 40: 10 (KJV).

Home At Last!

Home At Last!

Last night as I slept on my pillow,

I dreamed of a city so fair:

The streets were of gold,

The gates were of pearl;

The sea was like pure crystal glass.

No sickness, no pain, no sadness nor grief;

No death, and no evil was there.

I dreamed I had entered that city,

And walked on those streets of pure gold;

I dreamed I had sailed on that pure crystal sea,

And I heard someone say: Home at last!

Only pure light and endless delight

Are found in that city so fair.

Home at last! Home at last! I heard them all say.

We welcome you home from the fight.

Oh! sinner, why will you tarry

And work for the one

Who will pay you the wages of sin?

Death is the wages that Satan will pay

For all of your service to him.

When Jesus our Savior is offering you

The gift of eternal life.

A place in that city I dreamed of last night;

A place with the Father and home.

Exalt The Lord Our God

“The Lord reigneth; let the people tremble: he sitteth between the cherubim; let the earth be moved.” Psalm 99:1 (KJV).

Exalt ye the Lord our God, and worship at his footstool, for he is Holy.” Psalm 99: 5 (KJV).

We must worship God in spirit and in truth. We worship God in our thought life – by what we think about God. We worship God in our speech – by what we say about God. We worship God by our actions – in what we do to glorify and to serve God.

If God is our God, then he deserves our worship. He deserves to be the chief object of our thought life. He deserves to be the chief subject of our conversation. He deserves to be the one for whom we work and perform our duties.

“Exalt the Lord our God, and worship at at his holy hill; for the Lord our God is Holy.” Psalm 99: 9 (KJV).

Why Do I Love Jesus?

Why Do I Love Jesus?

      Why do I love Jesus? I can tell you that I love Jesus because he had chosen me before the foundation of the world, to give me faith to believe his word and be saved. I did not choose him, he chose me.

      “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hah blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ according as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will.” Ephesians 1: 3-5 (KJV).

      Unsaved friends, God has chosen to cause you to read this gospel message. All whom God has allowed to hear or read the gospel message have been chosen by him to believe and be saved. Without faith it is impossible to please God and be saved. Faith is a gift of God.

      “For by grace are ye saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not of works, lest any man should boast.” Ephesians 2: 8, 9 (KJV).

      I love Jesus because he gave me the faith to believe. Once I was dead to God in trespasses and sin, a natural man who could not understand the things of God.

      “The natural man recieveth not the things of the Spirit of God for they are foolishness unto him, neither can he know them because they are spiritually discerned.” 1 Cor 2:14 (KJV).

      Jesus awakened me from my natural state and gave me new life.

      “And you hath he quickened ( or made alive) who were dead in trespasses and sin: wherein in times past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lust of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.” Ephesians 2: 1, 3 (KJV)

      Therefore, I love Jesus because he chose me. I love Jesus because once I was dead to God, but he gave me new life. I love Jesus because once I was blind, but now I see. Once I was lost , but now I am found. I love Jesus because he paid with his own blood all the debts I owe God. I love Jesus because he will keep me secure forever.

      “And this is the record that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his son. He that hath the son hath life , and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the son of God that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the son of God.” 1 John 5: 11-13 (KJV).

      Dear reader, if you will hear with your heart this message of salvation, believe, and call upon the Lord, he will save you, and you too will have reason to love Jesus.

Speak to God

      “And David spake unto the Lord the words of this song in the day that the Lord had delivered him out of the hand of all his enemies, and out of the hand of Saul: And he said, the Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; the God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield and the horn of my salvation my high tower, and my refuge, my Savior; thou savest me from violence.” 2 Samuel 22: 1-3 (KJV) David spoke unto the Lord and sang songs of praise and thanksgiving for God's deliverance from all his enemies, and for all his blessings.

      When we speak unto the Lord, what do we say to him? Is he pleased with our salutation to him? Do we approach him with respect and adoration, ackowledging his rule and sovereignity over us? David acknowledged that he had won victories and was delivered from his enemies because of God's grace and love for him;. His prayer and song of praise to God was in remembrance of all of God's favors and blessings. He recognized that God was his fortresss and strong defense, and he called unto the Lord to tell him so.

      No battle is ever won with a multitude of men, or horses without God's protection. No blessing ever comes to us unless God ordains it; and no salvation unless God chooses to save us, which he did when he sent Christ into the world to lay down his life for all wo would believe. Nothing can harm us unless God allows it.

      We ought to speaik to God in prayer the first thing in the morning. When we speak to God, our first words ought to be words of thanksgiving and praise. We ought to approach God as our Father and tell him that we remember when we were yet sinners, and without hope in the world, and that Christ Jesus came into the world to save us. We called upon him and he answered us, and he did save us.

      What a great privilege God our Father has granted to us that through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ we have access to his throne of grace to speak with him when we are happy or, when we are sad; when we have plenty or, when we are in want; when we are in danger, or when we are safe; when we are sick or, in good health.

      Let us always remember that God is our rock, our fortress, our high tower, and call upon the Lord who is worthy to be praised.

     “I will call on theLord, who is worthy to be praised; so shall I be saved from mine enemies.” 2 Samuel 22: 4 (KJV).

Are Our Lamps Trimmed and Burning?

     ”Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom, and five of them were wise, and five were foolish. They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them; but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept, and at midnight there was a cry made, behold the bridegroom cometjh; go ye out to meet him. Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps, and the foolish said unto the wise, give us of your oil, for our lamps are gone out. But the wise answered, saying, not so; lest there be not enough for us and you; but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves. And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage, and the door was shut. Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us. But he answered and said, verily I say unto you, I know you not. Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the son of man cometh.” Matthew 25: 1-13 (KJV).

      I wonder, if Jesus should return suddenly without warning, how many of us Christians would find no oil in our lamps. Has the fire and enthusiasm, for the things of the Lord in our lives gone out? Are we so wrapped up in the things of the world that we fail to keep our spiritual lamps trimmed, and the spiritual fire burning, and a light shining in the window, waiting expectantly for the Lord's return? Jesus has told us to keep watching and waiting and praying, for we know not the day nor the hour when he shall return for his bride.

Advice To Young And Old Alike

Advice To The Young And Old Alike

      Boys and girls, young people, adults, and the elderly as well, we ought to be constantly learning from living, and from the word of God, and profit from the things which we have seen and experienced in life. Try not to make the same mistakes over and over. We ought to be constantly reviewing our lives, keeping the good and discarding the bad. Dispense with bad habits and adopt new and good habits. We ought to pray as we have never prayed before. We ought to draw nearer to God than we have ever been before.

      Replace disobedience with obedience. Replace fear and worry with faith and confidence in God who loves us and will take care of us and meet our needs according to the promises of his word. Boys, girls, young people, listen to your teachers and parents and take their advice when they teach principles from God's word, God has called them to guide you, and lead you in ways that will please him and profit you the rest of your lives. Older adults and the very elderly, we must never get to the point in our lives when we are past the point of listening to the advice of our Father - our heavenly Father, that is, and be obedient to his teaching. We are never too old to learn and to profit from the advice we receive from God.

 

      “The ear that heareth the reproofs of life abideth among the wise. He that refuseth instruction despiseth his own soul: but he that heareth reproof, getteth understanding. The fear of the Lord is the instruction of wisdom; and before honor is humility.” Proverbs 15: 31-33 (LJV).
