Use The Tongue Wisely!

     “I said, I will take heed to my ways, that I sin not  with my tongue:  I  will  keep my mouth with a bridle, while the wicked is before me.  I was dumb with silence.  I held my peace, even from good and my sorrow was stirred.  My heart was hot within me.  While I was musing, the fire burned: then spake I with my tongue.  Lord make me to know mine end, and the measure of my days, what it is, that I may know how frail I am.” Psalm 39: 1-4 (KJV).

     We must be careful as to what we speak with our tongue.  The tongue is one of the chief instruments which Satan uses to cause us to sin.  On the other  hand  the tongue can be used as an instrument of praise to God, and sound instruction and admonition to our fellowmen.  The psalmist promised himself that he would bridle his tongue and keep silence, but he was so overwhelmed  with the truth of God's word that while he thought on these things, the fire burned within  him and he was compelled to speak.

     We need to listen to God's word and be so overwhelmed with the truth that he reveals to us, and the desire to share his truths with others,  that the fire burns within us until we use our tongue to speak right things.  We need to speak only those things that God would have us to speak, especially to the unsaved.  We are obligated to use our tongue to defend the faith and to teach the gospel, and win souls to Christ.

 Why?

 Why do we write these things? Why do we preach these things? Why do we plead with people to take heed to the warning of the word of God? Why are we so concerned with those who do not really want to hear what we have to say and what God has to say, and may even resent us and hate us for it?

 It is because we, who have, by the grace of God experienced the love of God, and have been pardoned from our sins, and come to know the fellowship of the Holy Spirit and have been taught by God through the Lord Jesus Christ, and have been commissioned by him to "speak the truth in love" and warn the wicked.

 Who are the wicked? All of us, whether we are now saved, or have not yet come to the truth, could at one time or other, fall into this category. What is truth? There is one absolute truth in all the universe, that is - almighty God and God's word.. Who is God? "I am, that I am, the almighty", God told Moses

. There is no other God. "Look unto me and be ye saved all the ends of the earth, for I am God, and there is none else." Isaiah 45:22

. Immanuel - God with us in human flesh in the person of Jesus of Nazareth, who is the Christ, The Messiah. God has revealed himself to us in nature, by the things he has made. "the heavens declare the glory of God". He has revealed himself in the Holy Scriptures, The Holy Bible. "All scripture is given by inspiration of God" holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit". God has revealed himself to us through his living Word, the Lord Jesus Christ.

 Christ is confirmed to be who he said he is and be accepted by God the father by his resurrection, which is an established fact of history, having shown himself alive by many infallible proofs, and being seen by over five hundred people at one time after his resurrection.

 Wicked people are all those who will not acknowledge these absolute truths, and humble themselves before a loving heavenly father and accept his gift of love in the sacrifice of Christ for their sins

. The fool says in his heart: "no God for me" Psalm 53. This kind of fool is a wicked person, and God's absolute word tells us in no uncertain terms: "The wicked shall be cast into hell and all the nations that forget God." Psalm9: 17 

 Those of us who claim to be Christians, have been commissioned by our Lord to go into the world and preach the gospel to every creature and warn the wicked. If we have little or no concern for the state of the wicked and those who are lost without Christ, then our Christianity is weak indeed. We who know the truth have a responsibility to our friends and neighbors for their safety, whether it be physical or spiritual, then it is our responsibility and duty to answer his call for help, and to break down every barrier to get to him and snatch him from the fire. Likewise, when I see my friends and neighbors in danger of hell fire because of willful neglect of God's call to them, then it is my duty to do every thing I can to snatch them from the fires of eternal hell, even if they become angry at me for doing so. Besides, I have to give an account to God if I neglect to do this. 

 "If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small, if thou forbear to deliver them that are drawn unto death and those that are ready to be slain: if thou sayest, behold, we knew it not; doth not he that pondereth the heart consider it? and he that keepeth thy soul: doth not he know it? and shall not he render to every man according to his works?" Proverbs 24:10-12

 If we are truly the children of God who have been born again through our faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, God did not leave us here on earth just to brag, as it were, of our salvation, and sit in church Sunday after Sunday, and sing hymns and pat each other on the back and tell each other how wonderful we are, this is good and something we ought to do, but God has a bigger job for us to do, even as he told the children of Israel in Ezekiel’s day. He has commissioned us to be watchmen to warn the wicked and the lost of our day so that they might be spared the judgment of God.

 "Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel: therefore, hear the word at my mouth and give them warning from me, when I say unto the wicked, thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked ways, to save his life: the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand. Yet, if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity, but thou hast delivered thy soul. Again when a righteous man doth turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumbling block before him, he shall die: because thou has not given him warning, he shall die in his sins, and his righteousness which he hath done shall not be remembered; but his blood will I require at thine hand, Nevertheless, if thou warn the righteous man, that the righteous sin not, and he doth not sin, he shall surely live because he is warned: also thou hast delivered thy soul." Ezekiel 3; 17-21

 We do not want to stand before God almighty and give an account for not sharing our testimony of personal salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. We would like to see all men and women, boys and girls, turn from their wickedness and seek God. This is why we write these things, and preach these things, and plead. God said  -"So shall my word be that goeth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I send it." Isaiah 55:11.

Are You Saved?

 Are You Saved?

 Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners. Christ Jesus came into the world to save me, and Christ Jesus came into the world to save you. Are you saved? If you cannot say with absolute assurance that you are saved and know for sure that you will go to heaven when you die, then it is absolutely true, according to the teaching of the Holy Scriptures, the Holy Bible, that you are still lost, and if you are still lost when you die, you will spend eternity in hell forever with all its' misery and torments, separated from all that is pure and lovely, and righteous, apart from the presence of God forever. The apostle Paul, writing to Timothy said:

 “This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptance that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners: of whom I am chief.” 1 Timothy 1:15.

 If the apostle Paul declared himself to be chief of sinners, where does that leave each of us? This should convince each of us that we are lost and need a Savior.We have a Savior provided for us if we will believe him; accept and believe his word when he, through the scriptures, warns us of our fate if we make the wrong choices concerning him.

 “As it is written, there is none righteous, no, not one: there is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable: there is none that doeth good, no, not one.” Romans 3: 10-12. 

 “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” Romans 3: 23. 

 God in his love for us has offered us a remedy for this condition by offering to us by his mercy and grace, his own righteousness through Christ. 

 “Therefore, by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets, even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe.” Romans 3: 20-22 

 Otherwise: if we refuse God's offer of salvation through Christ – then -”The wages of sin is death. But the gift of God is eternal life, through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6: 23.

 If we choose to receive wages for our sinful works, then we receive eternal death; but if we would rather rely on the free gift of God, and denounce our sinful works and our own righteousness as “filthy rags”, and acknowledge that Christ paid our sin debt with his blood and sacrifice for us, then we are freely given life eternal. 

 “And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the son of man be lifted up: that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned; but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten son of God. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, that his deeds should be reproved; but he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought of God.” John 3: 14-21 

 “He that believeth on the son hath everlasting life, and he that believeth not the son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.” John 3: 36.

 “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. “ 1 John 1: 10. “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1: 9 

 How about it? Are you saved? Will you choose life or death? Will you choose light or darkness? Will you choose Christ or the Devil? Don't be deceived, if you do not choose to accept the love of Christ and his finished work on the cross for your eternal salvation, then you have automatically chosen the Devil and will be condemend with him in hell forever according to the word of God.

Is God Real To You?

 Is God real in your life? What, or who do you really think God is? Is God an intricate part of you as an individual? Is God as much a part of you as your breathing, or your heartbeat, or your walking and moving about? Is God just an ideal; a good idea? Is God just a philosophy of life that we pick from a book? Is God just a psychological means of control to keep us from doing immoral things? Is God just a good thought that we think about for a few moments each day, and then close the book and put it on the shelf for another day, or until something bad or unpleasant happens to us for which we have no answer, and we recognize that we need wisdom beyond ourselves? What and who is God to you as an individual?

 God's word teaches us that God is a spirit, a supernatural invisible spirit. They that worship God must worship him in spirit. God's word teaches us that the supernatural invisible spirit of God manifested himself in the person and body of Jesus of Nazareth while he was on earth. Jesus ascended into heaven after his resurrection, and sent the Holy Spirit to literally live in our bodies. If we choose and desire to have it so, God the Holy Spirit will clean our house and literally, as a matter of fact, actually take up residence in our bodies. At this point it is God himself living in us to will and to do of his good pleasure. If we choose to have it so, it will be God himself in us creating our wants and desires, and it will be God himself in us controlling our thoughts and the very movements of our bodies. 

 If God is really living in us, we don't really have to set up a lot of rules and regulations for ourselves, because it will be God himself that will be in control., We have to grasp the principle that we were made and designed to be the house and temple of God the place where God lives, and walks, and has his being. Of course , before God can live in us, we must be changed, we must be born again through faith in the finished work of the Lord Jesus Christ, and we must willingly yield ourselves and open the door so that the Holy Spirit can move in and take charge.

 Where do you go for counsel? Do you look to people, someone whom you admire for their great intellectual capacities, or do you look within yourselves, to the Holy Spirit of God who dwells and lives in each one of his born again children? 

 “”Woe to the rebellious children, saith the Lord, that take counsel, but not of me; and that covereth with a covering, but not of my spirit, that they may add sin to sin that walk to go down into Egypt, and have not asked at my mouth; to strengthen themselves in the strength of Pharaoh, and to trust in the shadow of Egypt. Isaiah 30: 1,2 .

 Did it ever occur to you that if you look to a person for counsel, even though that person may be a child of God, and even though that person may be much admired for his outward appearance and apparent service to the Lord, he may not be completely yielded himself to the spirit of God, and so be limited as to the wisdom he has from God? God want us to look to no person for counsel. He wants us to come directly to the throne of grace and seek his wisdom and counsel.

 Do we pitch our tents, as Lot did, so that we can look toward Sodom? Have we separated ourselves unto God, just enough, so that if we wanted to, it would not be too difficult to take a walk down into Egypt, as it were, which is typical of the world of sin and bondage from which we came. Are we prone to trust in the shadow of Egypt? Do we say that we love and trust God, but after all when we get hungry we must run after the things of the world to get satisfied? 

 When we trust in men, and in the world system, and have no real vital relationship with the living God who wants to live and walk and abide in us, then no wonder we have no power, and are frustrated and confused.

 “Therefore shall the strength of Pharaoh be your shame, and the trust in the shadow of Egypt your confusion.”Isaiah 30: 3

Drink from the Well of Salvation!

Drink From the Well of Salvation!

 Come, Drink at the well of Salvation! At the very beginning of our Lord's ministry on earth, John the Baptist pointed to Jesus and cried out, "Behold the Lamb of God that taketh away the sin of the world." John 1: 29.

 "All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all" Isaiah 53: 6

 We are invited to come to the well of salvation to wash and be made clean, and to drink of the water of life freely. By the grace of God we can all come to the well of salvation and dip our cup. 

"Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation." Isaiah 12; 3.

 When the cup is drawn up, it is filled to over flowing.

 "Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over." Psalm23:5

Anyone can dip his cup in the well of salvation free of charge, its on the house, God's house. 

"And he said unto me, it is done, I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely." Revelation 21:6. 

"And the Spirit and the bride say come, and let him that heareth say, come, and let him that is athirst come, and whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely." Revelation 22: 17. 

We can dip our cup freely and enjoy the benefits of salvation. Access to the well of salvation is expensive, but the admission price has been paid for all of us who have, and those who will receive it. Consider the price of admission to the well of salvation, but also consider the gift that is yours by God's grace to draw water from the well of salvation.

 "The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is everlasting life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Free to all who will ask, free to all who will take. Free to use but not abuse. Free to have and enjoy, but not to hoard and keep from others. It is our responsibility to advertise the gift, but make known the cost. It cost God our Father his only begotten son, and it cost the son, our savior his life.

 "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth on him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16

 "Freely ye have received, freely give."

Grace for All

 

 Thought for Today - March 21, 2025

 Grace for All!

 “Grace be to you, and peace from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.” Ephesians 1: 2. 

Grace, the unmerited favor of God, which God gives to those whom he chooses. Thank God he has chosen me to be the recipient of his grace. God has poured out his riches upon me at Christ's expense. For he paid it all for me on Calvary's cross. 

 “He was wounded for my transgression, he was bruised for my iniquities, the chastisement of my peace was upon him, and with his stripes I am healed.” Isaiah 53. 

 “According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will. To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved. In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace.” Ephesians 1: 4-7 

 Friend, do you have the peace of God? The peace of God comes as the result of - “redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence; having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself; that in the dispensation of the fullness of time he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth, even in him: In whom we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will: that we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.” Ephesians 1: 7-12

 Friend, if you are reading these lines, if you have heard the gospel message, you have also been chosen of God to be a recipient of his grace, to stand blameless before God, redeemed by his blood. Salvation is free to all who will believe and receive it.

God's Promise of Joy

 God's Promise Of Joy

 We are told that the pursuit of happiness is the right of every one of God's created human beings, and so it is,; but sometimes, we are misguided into believing that happiness and joy are one and the same., but this is not necessarily true.

 Happiness must be pursued, and sometimes we find it, and sometimes we don't. Whether or not we are happy at any one particular moment can very often depend upon our state of health, our financial situation, our possessions, our gains or losses etc. Joy on the other hand, is a deep seated, lively emotion of happiness, a sense of gladness, and delight and well being that is a fixation in our soul that was not found by our pursuit, but has been imparted to us as a gift from almighty God. 

If we have ever experienced the overwhelming sense of security and gladness, delight, and well being welling up from the depth of our innermost being, even in times when our body may be experiencing pain, or our bank account balance showing zero, or perhaps we have experienced some great disappointment, or even in times of great loss or even death itself., then we have experienced true joy.

 Happiness is contingent upon our present situation or state of affairs, and no one could expect to be what the world calls extremely happy when stressed out by worry over health, finances, and our every day problems which we are trying to resolve by our own worldly wisdom; but when we know Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, we can take all our burdens to him, and not only can we find peace and happiness, but he will give us his assurance of our salvation, and give us his joy. We are told to take our burdens to the Lord and leave them there. 

 Sometimes in the pursuit of happiness, we try to convince ourselves that we can find happiness and experience joy if we get that new house or that new automobile, or if we go to the shopping mall and accumulate a new wardrobe, and spend money for things that we do not really need, and sometimes find that we have over burdened ourselves with debt that only adds to our unhappiness in the end. Sometimes we even go to extremes and think that if we were in a different relationship with someone else other than the one to whom we are espoused, that we would have more happiness and joy, but none of these artificial remedies can bring us true happiness and everlasting joy. 

 The basic problem with all of us is that we are all sinners and separated from God, our creator. In order to be filled with joy, and experience true happiness, we need to have our sins forgiven, and fellowship restored with God. We are all guilty before God of being born sinners. We need God's forgiveness and pardon. Christ came into the world for this very purpose, that though his death on the cross, men and women, boys and girls, might find forgiveness and restoration to God our Father. Until we, by faith, come to Christ, believing that he is God in human flesh, and that he offered himself on the cross for our salvation and freedom from sin and its' penalty of guilt and damnation, we will always be carrying around within our souls a heavy burden of guilt, because, whether we realize it or not, our discontent and unhappiness is the result of our guiltiness before God. We do not have to carry this heavy burden of a guilty conscience on our shoulders because all we have to do is to come to Christ by faith, believing his word that he is willing to save to the uttermost all who come to God by him. Sincerely ask for his forgiveness, and open our hearts and minds to him so that he might fill us with his Holy Spirit, and then we are born again, the children of God, and then the joy of the Lord fills our entire being.

 When we have the joy of the Lord in our hearts, then what we think of as happiness is there also regardless of our state of being or situation in life. God has not promised that we will not have trials and tribulations and problems, but he has promised us everlasting joy, through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

 “Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name; ask and ye shall receive that your joy may be full.” John 16: 24.

 “Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope through the power of the Holy Ghost” Romans 15:13.

 “And the ransomed of the Lord shall return and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their hearts; they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.” Isaiah 35: 10.

 “O satisfy us early with thy mercy, that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.” Psalm 90: 14. 

“Thou will show me the path of life, in thy presence is fullness of joy: at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.” Psalm 16:11.

 “If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments and abide in his love. These things have I spoken unto you that your joy may be full,” John:15:10-11.

 “And ye now therefore have sorrow; but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy, no man taketh from you” John 16:22. 

“Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.” Psalm 30: 5

. You will experience Joy in serving Jesus.
