Psalm 27

Thought for Today - October 27, 2023

Psalm 27

By: Robert A. Searles

The LORD GOD almighty is the solid rock of defense from all enemies for all nations and peoples who truly trust and obey him.  He is the solid rock of the ages, He is the answer and solution, to all the problems in the middle east and other regions around the globe.  Why don't we wise up,and put the ten commandment and prayer back in our schools, hire teachers and administrators, that will teach truth and righteousness instead of the garbage that is now being forced on our children in some of our school systems, and why don't we put preachers in the pulpits of our churches, being filled to overflowing with the Holy Spirit, having the guts and courage to tell it like it is, as did the preachers of a by gone day and founders of our great nation.

" The Lord is my light and my salvation- whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life- of whom shall I be afraid? When the wicked advance against me to devour me, it is my enemies and my foes who will stumble and fall. Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear; though war break out against me, even then I will be confident.  One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple. For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling; he will hide me in the shelter of his sacred tent and set me high upon a rock.  Then my head will be exalted above the enemies who surround me; at his sacred tent I will sacrifice with shouts of joy; I will sing and make music to the Lord. Hear my voice when I call, Lord; be merciful to me and answer me.  My heart says of you, "Seek his face!" Your face, Lord, I will seek. Do not hide your face from me, do not turn your servant away in anger; you have been my helper. Do not reject me or forsake me, God my Savior.  Though my father and mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me.  Teach me your way, Lord; lead me in a straight path because of my oppressors.  Do not turn me over to the desire of my foes, for false witnesses rise up against me, spouting malicious accusations. I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.

Heaven or Hell - What will you Choose?

 Thought for Today - October 26, 2023

Heaven or Hell  -  What will you Choose?

By: Robert A .Searles

The bible says that God is love  and he loves us all , he is not willing that any should perish but he has presented us with choices that we all must make .  This might seem like a harsh statement, but the bible tells us that we are given two choices to choose from,  Choice #1 Repent of our sin and accept Christ as our Lord and Savior and go to Heaven when we die, or go to Hell.  God has given us free will to choose, he does not force us either way.  We choose where we will spend eternity.

"For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever should believe on him shall not perishj but have everlasting life." John 3:16

" For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.  He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God."  John 3: 17

What will be your Choice?
Are you almost persuaded, but lost?

Shall Israel prevail?

  Thought for Today - October 25, 2023

Shall Israel Prevail?

By: Robert A. Searles

What are God's promises to his chosen people?  God has promised to protect and preserve his people forever.  We as born again Christians ought to stand for that which God stands for, and as a nation under God, we ought to be  "marching  to Zion"  to help obtain the victory.

The Great Invitation

Thought For Today - October 24,2023
The Great Invitation
By: Robert A. Searles

I would like to invite all my friends and readers to consider, and accept God's gracious invitation to come and dine which he extended to his people Israel, through the prophet Isaiah many centuries ago, and is still applicable to all people  today, and throughout the ages, who will receive it..  How about it?  Will you receive it today?

"Ho, everyone that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money, come ye, buy and eat, yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.  Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labor for that which satisfieth not?  Hearken diligently unto me, and eat that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.  Incline your ear and come unto me: hear and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David." Isaiah 55: 1-3

"Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while his is near. Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous  man his thoughts; and let him return unto the Lord, and he  will have mercy upon him,  and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon." Isaiah 55: 6,7

Come and dine!  <iframe width="1067" height="600" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/DHa36haYio8" title="Come and Dine (With Lyrics)" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Blessed Are the Poor in Spirit!

 Thought For Today - October 21, 2023
Blessed Are the Poor in Spirit!

By: Robert A. Searles

"Bow down thine ear, O Lord, hear me: for I am poor and needy. Preserve my soul; for I am holy: O thou my God, save thy servant that trusteth in thee. Be merciful unto me, O Lord: for I cry unto thee daily." Psalm 86: 1-3.

God loves us and wants to provide for all our needs. We have the privilege of calling on him and laying our burdens on him; but we must surrender all to him, and trust him completely, and truly desire his will for our lives. God will not help the person who is self sufficient, or thinks he is, one who has no need for anything, or anybody. We must recognize our depravity and sin, and receive Christ as our sin sacrifice and Savior before we can receive God's help and blessing.

This Could Be the Day!

Thought For Today - May 29, 2025

This Could Be the Day!
By Robert A. Searles

This could be the day that the Lord will return. At any moment, at any hour of the day or night, the trumpet could sound and the dead in Christ arise, and we which are alive and remain would be caught up to meet them in the air, and so would we ever be with the Lord.

"For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first; Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord." 1 Thessalonians 4: 16, 17.

What a glorious day to look forward to! When Christ shall come for his own; when we shall see him as he is; when death and sickness and disease and sorrow will be abolished forever. Loved ones who have gone before us who have died in Christ we shall see again around the throne of God.

If this should be the day, are we ready? Is there oil in our lamp? Do we have on a wedding garment? Are we prepared to meet the bridegroom? Are our lives consecrated to the Lord Jesus?

"Therefore let us not sleep, as do others, but let us watch and be sober." 1 Thessalonians 5; 6.

"Even so, come quickly Lortd Jesus"

Let us keep oil in our lamps and our wicks trimmed.

The Awesome Power Of God's Love And Mercy

 Thought for Today - October 19, 2023

The Awesome Power Of God's Love And Mercy

 By: Robert A. Searles

The raging sea, with its' resounding roar, battering the rugged, rocky, coastline; the roll of the thunder echoing across the valleys, lending a message of impending danger to man and beast, and warning them to seek cover; and the fearsome lightning streaking across the heavens, and striking where it may and destroying all in its' path, as well as the mighty force of wind, hurricanes, tornadoes, and earthquakes which tear up forests and make havoc of homes and property, speak to us of the mighty power and omnipotence of our awesome God and creator.

When we observe the rage, anger, and power being displayed in these forces in the natural world, we are reminded from the scriptures, that God is exceedingly angry over sin every day; and if he chose to pour out his rage and anger on us as sinners, we would most surely be without hope and most miserable. “God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day.” Psalm 7: 11.

But God is loving, kind and merciful, and is not willing that any should perish. He could, if he chose to to do so, in his exceeding wrath and anger over sin, use his power to destroy the world and cleanse it from all sin; but instead, as he restrains and limits the forces of nature, and sets the boundary of the raging seas, and allows it to come thus far and no more; and as he controls the thunder and lightning, and earthquakes, and natural disasters, so as to preserve man and beast, that men and women, boys and girls, might come to repentance and learn of him and be saved, he withholds from us his rage and anger, and pours out his mercy upon us. “The Lord is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger. and of great mercy.” Psalm 145: 8.

We see the great wrath and anger of God poured out on his only begotten son, the Lord Jesus Christ, on Calvary's cross for our sins, that he might pay our sin debt for each of us. We see his great power revealed in the resurrection of Jesus as the first begotten from the dead for our justification, and we see his everlasting love and care for us in his ascension into heaven, and even now as our great high priest.

We, the inhabitants of earth become severely angry at times, with each other, and with our circumstances, and sometimes our anger turns into rage, and when this happens, we lose control, unless we are walking closely with the Lord. When anger turns to rage, this can lead to murder and gross sins.
“Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath, for the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.” James 1: 19, 20.

“Be ye angry, and sin not. Let not the sun go down upon your wrath. Neither give place to the devil. Ephesians 4: 26,27.

“And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us, an offering and a     sacrifice to God for a sweet smelling savor. Ephesians 5: 2.

May we, as Christians,, strive to walk In love, and with the help and grace of God avoid extreme anger and rage that will lead to sin.

let us reflect on the thought of how much greater is God's mercy than his wrath, by the sacrifice of his only begotten son so that we all could live with him forever according to John 3:16

May we abound in our love for God and our neighbor.  Click below, sing along and worship God.
