May the Voice of God Be Heard!

Thought for Today - January 7, 2024

May the Voice of God Be Heard!

By: Robert A. Searles

May the voice of almighty God be heard through his anointed servants today throughout the world, that the earth is the LORD's and the fulmess thereof.  God will forever preserve and protect his chosen people, Israel, and all those who call upon him for salvation through his son, the LORD Jesus Christ.  "That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth."

"Keep not thou silence, O God: hold not thy peace, and be not still, O God. For, lo, thine enemies make a tumult: and they that hate thee have lifted up the head. They have taken crafty counsel against thy people, and consulted against thy hidden ones. They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance. For they have consulted together with one consent: they are confederate against thee: The tabernacles of Edom, and the Ishmaelites; of Moab, and the Hagarenes;Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek; the Philistines with the inhabitants of Tyre;Assur also is joined with them: they have holpen the children of Lot. Selah.Do unto them as unto the Midianites; as to Sisera, as to Jabin, at the brook of Kison: Which perished at Endor: they became as dung for the earth.Make their nobles like Oreb, and like Zeeb: yea, all their princes as Zebah, and as Zalmunna: Who said, Let us take to ourselves the houses of God As the fire burneth a wood, and as the flame setteth the mountains on fire; So persecute them with thy tempest, and make them afraid with thy storm. Fill their faces with shame; that they may seek thy name, O LORD Let them be confounded and troubled for ever; yea, let them be put to shame, and perish:  That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth." Psalm 83: 1-18

Not With the Wisdom of Man

Thought for Today - January 6. 2024

Not With the Wisdom of Man

By : Robert A. Searles

"Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man the things which God hath prepared for them who love him."\

These truths can never be discerned by the spirit of man, and man's wisdom, education or enticing speech.

Only by the indwelling Holy Spirit which we receive when we accept Christ as our LORD and Savior and are"born again" can we fully understand the love of God for us when he gave himself to bear our sin on the cross, to die, and be raised again by the power of God.

"And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God. For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling. And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God. Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought: But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ."1Corinthians 2: 1-16

Look Up! See the Glory of God!

Look Up! See the Glory of God!

By: Robert A. Searles

When looking into the heavens, and observing all of creation, including our own human body,  only  the "fool" will declare that there is no God.

"The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard. Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun, Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race. His going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof. The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple. The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes. The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward. Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults. Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression. Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.." Psalm 19 : 1-14

Blessed is the Man That Endureth Temptation

Blessed is the Man That Endureth Temptation

By: Roert A. Searles

The bible tells us that Jesus was tempted in every point even as we are, yet he yeilded not to temptaion because he was and is the perfect sinless son of God. Let us pray in Jesus's name that God will give us his grace to overcome and endure any and all evil temptations that  Satan and  the lust of thhe flesh and the pride of life may  present to us, so that we my receive all the blessings that God has in store for us.

"Let the brother of low degree rejoice in that he is exalted: But the rich, in that he is made low: because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away.1For the sun is no sooner risen with a burning heat, but it withereth the grass, and the flower thereof falleth, and the grace of the fashion of it perisheth: so also shall the rich man fade away in his ways. Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him. Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.

Recommended Lifestyle of Christians

By: Robert A. Searles

"Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord; Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer; Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality. Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not. Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep. Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits. Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men." Romans 12

The Lord is Good, a Stronghold in the Day of Trouble!

By: Robert A. Searles

In consideration  of God's mighty power and dominion over all his creation, who can stand before his indignation, and who can abide in the fierceness of his anger when he is angry with the wicked every day, and his fury is poured out like fire and the rocks are thrown down by him ?

Nevertheless, though God hates sin and is angry with the wicked, he loves the sinner and is not willing that any should perish, but that all should repent and partake of his mercy, grace, and forgiveness, and come to know him as LORD and savior, and to know him that is good and a stronghold in the time of trouble.

"He rebuketh the sea, and maketh it dry, and drieth up all the rivers: Bashan languisheth, and Carmel, and the flower of Lebanon languisheth. The mountains quake at him, and the hills melt, and the earth is burned at his presence, yea, the world, and all that dwell therein. Who can stand before his indignation? and who can abide in the fierceness of his anger? His fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are thrown down by him. The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him. But with an overrunning flood he will make an utter end of the place thereof, and darkness shall pursue his enemies. What do ye imagine against the LORD? he will make an utter end: affliction shall not rise up the second time. For while they be folden together as thorns, and while they are drunken as drunkards, they shall be devoured as stubble fully dry."Nahum 1: 4-10

Security in Christ!

Security in Christ!

By: Robert A. Searles

We who are the born again members of the body of Christ, called to be saints of God, need to be in prayer for one another daily, even as Paul prayed for and admonished the Phillippian saints to maintain their unshakeable faith in their security in Christ.  "Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ."

"I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, Always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy, For your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now; Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ: Even as it is meet for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart; inasmuch as both in my bonds, and in the defence and confirmation of the gospel, ye all are partakers of my grace. For God is my record, how greatly I long after you all in the bowels of Jesus Christ. And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment;" Philippians 1:6
