Blessed Are The Poor In Spirit!
By: Robert A. Searles
“Bow down thine ear, O Lord,
hear me: for I am poor and needy. Preserve my soul; for I am holy: O
thou my God, save thy servant that trusteth in thee. Be merciful
unto me, O Lord: for I cry unto thee daily.” Psalm 86: 1-3 (KJV).
God loves us and wants to provide
for all our needs. We have the privilege of calling on him and
laying our burdens on him; but we must surrender all to him, and
trust him completely, and truly desire his will for our lives. God
will not help the person who is self sufficient, or thinks he is, one
who has no need for anything, or anybody. We must recognize our
depravity and sin, and receive Christ as our sin sacrifice and Savior
before we can receive God's help and blessing.
