Daily Bible Verse
The Lord says: "These people come near to me with their mouth and honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. Their worship of me is made up only of rules taught by men. Therefore once more I will astound these people with wonder upon wonder; the wisdom of the wise will perish, the intelligence of the intelligent will vanish."
Isaiah 29:13-14 (NIV)

Thirsty for God
Thirsty for God
By: Robert A. Searles
Thirsty for God? In this dry desert place of worldliness and sin in which we find ourselves - dry and parched by the heat of wickedness and corrupion all around us - we sometimes wonder if we will make it through another day. We long and wait for that refreshing stream of the waters of God's love and mercy.
"As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee O God. My soul thirsteth for God , for the living God, when shall I come and appear before God?" Psalm 42: 1, 2.
Satan lies to us, and tries to make us believe that God has forsaken us. We go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy. When we truly seek after God and trust him, he fills our cup to overflowing with the living water of his love, mercy, and salvation. We must ask ourselves - Why should we be cast down and disquieted within our souls when we can look beyond ourselves, and discover the oasis in the middle of the desert, and drink from the fountain of God's love, mercy, and salvation, which shall never run dry, and praise him who is our God forever?
