God's Advice  When We Need to Control Our  Tongue

"I said I will take heed to my ways, that I sin not with my tongue: I will keep my mouth with a bridle, while the wicked be before me." Psalm 39: 1

"He that hideth hatred with lying lips, and he that uttereth a slander is a fool.  In the multitude of words, there wanteth  not sin:  But he that refraineth his lips is wise The tongue of the just is as choice silver: the heart of the wicked is  of little worth.  The lip of the righteous feed many; but fools die for want of wisdom" Psalm 10: 18-21

"Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man, but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man." Math 15: 11

"My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation.  For in many  things we offend all.  If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body.   Behold, we put bits in the horses mouth that they may obey us, and we turn about their whole body.  Behold also the ships, which though they be so great, and are driven of fierce winds, yet are they turned about with a very small helm, whithersoever the governor listeth even so , the tongue is a little member and bosteth great things.  Behold, how great a matter a littled fire kindleth and the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity; so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and it is set on fire the  course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.  For every kind of  beast; and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind, but the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.   Therewith  bless we God, even the Father, and therewith, curse we men, which are made after tue similitude of God.  Out of the same mouth proceed blessings and cursing.  My brethren these things ought not to be.  Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter?  Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries?  Either a vine, figs?   So can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh." James3: 1-12

"Moreover if thy  brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: If he shall hear thee, thou hast  gained thy brother.  But if he wilt not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.  and  if he shall neglect to hear them , tell it unto the church: but if he neglect  to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and Publican,"Math 18: 15-17

"Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unjust, and not before the saints?  Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world?  And if  the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?  Know ye not that we shall judge angels, how much more things that pertain to this life?  If then ye have judgment of things pertaining to this life, set them to judge who are the least esteemed in the church.  I speak to your shame. Is it so that there is not a wise man among  you? No, not one that shall be able to judge  between his brethren?  But brother goeth to law with brother, and that before the unbelievers. Now therefore there is utterly a fault among you, because ye go to law one with another. Why  not rather suffer yourselves to be defrauded? Nay, ye  do wrong, and defraud, and that your brethren. " 1 Cor 6: 1-8

"And Jehashaphat stood in the congregation of Judah and Jerusalem, in the  house of the Lord, before the new court, and said, O Lord God of our fathers, art not thou God in heaven? and rulest not thou over all the kingdoms of the heathen? And in thine hands is there not power and might, so that none is able to withstand thee?  Art not thou our God; who didsr drive out the inhabitants of this land before  thy people Israel, and gavest it to the seed of Abraham thy friend for ever?  And they dwell therein and have built thee a sanctuary therein for thy name', saying if, when evil cometh upon us, as the sword, judgment, or pestilence, or famine, we stand before this house, and in thy presence ( for thy name is in this house,) and cry unto thee in our affliction, then thou wilt hear and help,  And now,  behold, the children of Ammon and Moab and mount Seir, whom thou wouldest not let Israel invade when they came out of the land of Egypt, but they turned from them, and destroyed them not; but Behold I say, how they reward us, to come to cast us out of thy possession, which thou hast given us to inherit. O our God, wilt thou not judge them?  For we have no might against this great  company that cometh against us; neither know we what to do: but our eyes are upon thee." 2 Chron  20: 5-12 

"And when thou prayest, thou shalt not  be as the hypocrites are, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corner of the streets, that they  may be seen of men.  Verily, I say unto you, they have their reward.  But  thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to the Father which seeth in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly."

I fast  twice in the week, I give tithes ofall I possess. God's  Promises When We Wonder About Spiritual Gifts

"For I say through the grace given unto me,  to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith, for as we have many members in our body, and all members have not the same office: so we being many, are one body in Christ,and every one members one of another. Having  then gifts differing, according to the grace that is given unto us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith; or ministry, let us wait on our ministry: or he that teacheth, on  teaching; or he that exhorteth, on exhortation; he that giveth,  let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness." Rom 12: 3-8

"I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ, that in every thing ye are enriched by him in all utterance, and in all knowledge; even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you; so that ye came behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ; who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord." 1 Cor 1: 4-9

"Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethen, I would not have you ignorant.  Ye know that ye were gentiles, carried away unto these dumb idols, even as ye were led. Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say  that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.  Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same spirit.  And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.  And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.  But the manifestation of the spirit is given to every man to profit withal.  For to one is given by the spirit the word of wisdom, to another the word of knowledge, by the  same spirit, to another the gift of  healing, by the same spirit; to another prophecy; to another  discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the  interpretation of tongues: But all these worketh that one and self same spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will. For the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members are of that one body, being many, are  one body; so also is Christ.  For by one spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free, and have been all made to drink into one spirit.  For the body is not one member; but many. That there should be no schism in the body but that the members should have the same care, one afor another." 1 Cor 12: 1-14;25 

"As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifest grace of God. Jf any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth; that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever: Amen " 1 Peter 4: 10-11

"Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him.  I will set him on high because he hath known my name.  He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him. With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation." Psalm 91: 14-16

"Who is a god like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? He retaineth not  his anger forever, because he delighteth  in mercy. He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our  iniquities, and thou wilt cast all their sins  into the depth of the sea.  Thou wilt perform the truth to Jacob, and thy mercy to Abraham. which thou hast sworn unto our fathers from the days of old. ." Micah 7: 18-20

"And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the son of man be lifted up; that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.  For God so loved the world  that he gave his only begotten Son, tha whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.  For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through him might be saved.  He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.   And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world,  and men loved darkness rather than light,  because their deeds were evil.  For every one that doeth  evil hateth the light, , neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. "If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater:  for this is the witness of God, which he hath testified of his Son. He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself; he that believeth not God hath made him a liar, because  he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.  And this is the record, that God hath  given to  us  eternal life, and this life is in his Son.  He that hath the son hath life, and he  that hath not the son of God hath not life. Behold, God is my salvation,, I will trust, and not be afraid: for the Lord JEHOVAH  is  my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation. Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation, and in that  day shall ye say, praise the Lord, call upon his name,  declare his doings among the people,, make mention  that his name  is exalted. sing unto the Lord, for he hath done excellent things; this is known in all the earth. cry out and shout, thou inhabitants of Zion: for great is the Holy One of Israel in the midst of thee." Isaiah 12

"Comfort  ye, comfort ye my people saith your God. speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem and cry unto her,  that her warfare is accomplished. For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us in trouble, so our consolations aboundeth in  Christ, and whether we be afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation, which is  effectual in the enduring of the same suffering which we also suffer; or whether we be comforted,, it is for your consolation and salvation. and our hope of you is steadfast, knowing that as ye are partakers of the suffering so shall ye  be also  of the consolation." 2 Cor 1: 3-7

" Nevertheless God that comforteth those that are cast down comforted us by the coming of Titus.Therefore we were comforted in your comfort: yea and exceedingly the more joyed. We further joy of Titus,  because his spirit was refreshed by you all." 2 Cor 7: 6, 13

"Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of  good courage ; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: For the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest." Joshua 1: 9

"And Moses called unto Joshua, and said unto him in the sight of all Israel, be strong and of good courage: for thou must go with this people unto  the land which the Lord hath sworn unto their fathers to give them; and thou shalt cause them to inherit it. And the Lord, he it is that doth go before them: he will be with thee, he will not  fail thee, neither forsake thee: Fear not neither be dismayed." Deut 31: 7,8

"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is  in  Christ Jesus'' Rom 3: 23,24

"But God commended his love toward us in that while we were yet sinners,Christ died for us." Rom 5:8 

Be of good cheer ! With Jesus  we cannot fail!

"These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulations; but be of good cheer: I have overcome the world." John 16: 33

"The spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit that we are the children of God: and if children then heirs: heirs of God, and joint heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him that we may be also gloirified together." Rom 8: 16-17

"For what glory is it if when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? But if when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God: for even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps." 1 Peter 2: 20-21

"Let, I pray thee, thy merciful kindness be for my comfort, according to thy word unto thy servant. Let thy tender mercies come unto me, that I may live: for thy law is my delight.: Psalm 119: 76-77

"Then shall the virgin rejoice in the dance, both young men and old together: for I will turn their mourning into joy, and will comfort them, and make them rejoice from their sorrow." Jer 31: 13

"Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted." Math 5: 4

"Verily, verily, I say unto you, that ye shall weep and lament, but the world shall rejoice; and ye shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy. A woman when she is in travail hath sorrow because her hour is come, but as soon as she is delivered of the child, she remembereth no more the anguish,for joy that a man is born into the world. And ye now, therefore have sorrow; but I will see you again, and your  heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you." John 16: 20-22

"Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed: and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." John 8: 31, 32 

"He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will  love him;and will manifest myself to him. Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world? Jesus answered and said unto him, if a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him." John 14: 21-23

But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but  a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deeds." James 1: 25
