God's Advice When We Are Tempted to Neglect Public Worship
By: Robert A. Searles
"Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, nor thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day and hallowed it." Exodus 20: 8-11
"O come, ler us sing unto the Lord: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation, Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms. For the Lord is a great God, and a great king above all gods. In his hand are the deep places of the earth: the strength of the hills is his also. The sea is his, and he made it: and his hands formed the dry land. O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the Lord our maker,For he is our God, and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. Today if ye will hear his voice, harden not your heart as in the provocation, and as in the day oif temptation in the wilderness. " Psalm 95: 1-8
"And they continued stedfastly in the apostles doctrine and fellowship, 2 and in breaking of bread, and in prayers. And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles. And all that believed were together, and had all things common; and sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need. And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart. Praising God, and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such s should be saved." Acts 2: 42-47
"And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works. Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves togeher, as the mnner of some is: but exhorting one another: and so much more, as ye see the day approaching." Acts 10: 24-25
The sabbath day was a special day decreed by God, to be observed or set aside as a day of rest, after having labored for the past six days, as a reminder that God had labored for six days to create the heaven and earth and all things, and rested from his labor, And said "it is good". It was a day to be set aside for all unnecessary work to cease, in order that all men and women, boys and girls, and yes, even the work animals, and even he land would have an opportunity to regain strength and energy for the next week of labor.
It was also a day when people could count iheir blessings, and give thanks and remember the goodness of God and praise him.
Today, we Christians observe Sunday, ( the first day of the week) to reflect and mediate on the goodness and blessings of God. It was on the first day of the week that Jesus Christ appeared to the apostles and disciples where they were gathered together that first Sunday night, after God had raised him from the dead.
From that time forward Christians meet together on Sunday to worship , to greet one another, and find eternal rest for our souls through the death and resurrection of Christ.
The assembling of ourselves together as Christians at least once a week should not be neglected if at all possible.

Find Something Good To Say – Jane H. Young
“The heart of the wise instructs his mouth and adds persuasiveness to his lips. Pleasant words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones,” Proverbs 16:23-24 NASB.
If everyone would purposely say something nice to at least one person each day, I think the world would be a better place. Maybe we’d start a ‘pandemic of niceness.’ Lord only knows we could use it about now! Try to make at least one person smile each day. You can speak just one kind word to anyone, it doesn’t matter who. Then count, if you dare, the amount of happiness just you could spread in a week, a year, a lifetime!
The lack of courtesy and abundance of impatience in today's world is out of control. So many seem full of some kind of rage — road rage, restaurant rage, standing in the grocery store waiting to check rage. But there’s power in a loving touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, or an honest compliment. You could be the life-changing factor in someone’s day. “A man has joy in an apt answer, and how delightful is a timely word!” Proverbs 15:23, NASB. Give it a try! Make an on-purpose decision today to be the person you would want to bump into if you were down.
Go ahead, try it. Look in the mirror and say something nice to yourself. Flash a great big happy smile. Now go out and share that with others like you mean it. Oh, what a blessing you are going to be. This is going to be a great day.
Prayer: Father as I continue on my day, show me who badly needs a kind word, a caring smile or a helping hand. Lord, help me get over myself and see the hurting world around me. I want to be that person that spreads happiness, peace, and joy throughout each day.

Bless the Lord at All Times!
3
By: Robert A Searles
"Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name." Psalm 103: 1
4
5
We who are Christians and know of the mercies of God ought to spend the
6
remainder of our lives blessing and praising the Lord for all his
7
goodness to us. How wonderful to know that he has forgiven us all our
8
iniquities, past, present, and future, and we will never again come unto
9
condemnation. How wonderful to know that our once sin sick soul has
10
been healed from the plague of the dominion and power of sin, and sin
11
has no more power and dominion over us to keep us in its' prison.
12
13
The loving kindness and tender mercies of God has redeemed our life
14
from destruction. As the mother bird feeds its' young, God daily fills
15
our lives with good things. All things work together for good to them
16
that love God. I am so glad that God hath not dealt with me after my
17
sin, nor rewarded me according to my iniquities, but he sent his only
18
begotten son to die
19
in my place and take my sin upon himself and pay the
20
penalty for me, and as far as the east is from the west, so far hath he
21
removed our transgression from us.
22
23
My friend, if you are not yet a Christian if you have not yet believed
24
in the only begotten son of God whom God sent to earth to manifest
25
himself to sinful man, and offer himself a sacrifice for the sin of the
26
world, I admonish you to receive him by faith, and ask him to forgive
27
your sin, and come live in your heart and give you eternal life. Then as
28
millions of others will testify along with the Psalmist, you wilt have
29
gladness and joy in your heart, and you will have reason to bless the
30
Lord all the day long with all that is within you.

Home at last!

By: Robert A. Searles
"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:23
Home at last!
Last night as I slept on my pillow,
I dreamed of a city so fair -
The streets were of gold,
the gates were of pearl;
The sea was like pure crystal glass.
No sickness, no pain, no sadness nor grief;
no death ,and no evil was there.
I dreamed I had entered that city,
and walked on those streets of pure gold;
I dreamed I had sailed on that pure crystal sea,
And I heard someone say: Home at last!
Only pure light and endless delight
are found in this city so fair.
Home at last! Home at last! I heard them all say.
We welcome you home from the wars.
Oh! sinner, why will you work for the one
who will pay you the wages of sin?
Death is the wages that Satan will pay
For all of your service to him.
When Jesus our savior is offering you
The gift of eternal life.
A place in that city I dreamed of last night;
A place with the father and home.

Thought For Today - July 26, 2022
If someone should ask - Who is God? - By: Robert A. Searles
If someone should ask, who is God? "God is a spirit and they that
worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth." John 4:24.
God is an infinite, eternal being. the divine source of all things. He
is the creator of the universe and everything in it. In the beginning,
(which excludes the beginning of God, for he had no beginning and has no
end), God said let there be, and it was so.
" In the beginning
God created the heavens and the earth. And the earth was without form,
and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the spirit of
God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, let there be light:
and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God
called the light day, and the darkness he called night. And the evening
and the morning were the first day." Genesis 1: 1-5.
God is a
person, and though he is invisible, he is the ultimate personality. God
is love, there could be no love for one another upon earth, except that
God has extended his attribute of love toward us. God is the supreme
intelligence. God knows. There could be no knowledge of anything except
that God has imputed that knowledge from himself to mankind.
God sees all things, and God hears all things, and God is concerned and
cares for all his creatures. "He who made the eye, can he not see? And
he that made the ear, can he not hear?". God sees, God hears, and God
knows, there is nothing hid from him. No man can hide from God, whether
his deeds be good or evil. God is holy and all righteousness is in him.
God hates sin and will eventually judge all sin.
God has chosen
to reveal himself to mankind in several different ways. He has revealed
himself in nature, in his creation. "The heavens declare the glory of
God; and the firmament sheweth his handiwork. Day unto day uttereth
speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge. there is no speech nor
language where their voice is not heard." Psalm 19:1-3.
There
is no excuse for any intelligent being on earth not to know that God is,
and that he is the creator of all things. God has revealed himself to
mankind through the Holy Scriptures, The Holy Bible. "All scripture is
given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for
reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: that the man
of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works." 2
Timothy 3:16,17.
"Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the
scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in
old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were
moved by the Holy Ghost." 2 Peter 1:20,21
If one would ask, who
is God?, Then let him look to the heavens and observe and admire the
glories of God's creation in the universe, in the stars and the
galaxies. Let him look at the birds, the bees, the flowers, the animal
kingdom and see the intelligent design of an intelligent creator.
If one would ask: Who is God? Let him search the holy scriptures, the
word of God, The bible, for therein God tells us who he is and what he
requires of his creation. When God revealed himself to Moses on Mt Sini
and gave him the ten commandments, he said to Moses: "I am that I am".
God requires holiness, "Be ye holy as I am holy." God's requirement for
the human race is that they have no other God beside him. "And thou
shall love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul,
and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first
commandment. And the second is like, namely this, thou shalt love thy
neighbor as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.
God has finally revealed himself in the person and incarnation of his
only begotten son, The Lord Jesus Christ. No person can know God, nor
approach unto God except by and through him. "God, who at sundry times
and in divers manner spake in time past unto the fathers by the
prophets, hath in these last days spoken unto us by his son, whom he
hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; who
being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person,
and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by
himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the majesty on
high; Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by
inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they." Hebrews 1: 1-4.
If one would ask: Who is God? Then let him lift up his eyes, and behold
the only begotten son of God, the perfect lamb of God. God who is
spirit, took upon himself a human body in the person of Jesus of
Nazareth, who is the Christ, the Messiah. "In the beginning was the
Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in
the beginning with God.. All things were made by him; and without him
was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was
the light of men,. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness
comprehended it not." John 1: 1-5.
All men and women, boys and
girls, who have ever lived on earth are by nature sinners, having
inherited the sin nature from our first parents, Adam and Eve. Because
of this fact, the bible tells us that we are born estranged and
separated from God, and consequently unless we are able to keep all the
laws of God perfectly and attain unto his holiness, we are all condemned
to be eternally separated from God and spend eternity in a literal
Hell. No man ever lived on earth who could measure up to the holiness of
God except the Son of God. Only in him is perfect sinlessness and
holiness. The word of God the bible tells us that God in his love and
mercy looked down upon the lost condition of mankind and that: "God so
loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever
believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life." John 3:
16
. Who then is God? God is our creator, our source, our
beginning. God is God, the "Iam, that I am". He is the one that loves us
with an everlasting love, and is not willing for any of us to perish
and be separated from him forever. God never sent anyone to hell and he
never will. If we should find ourselves eternally confined to the
horrors of hell, it will be our own fault, because two thousand years
ago, born in a stable in Bethlehem as prophesied by the prophet Micah,
was Christ, the Perfect, sinless lamb of God, who came to take away the
sin of the world, God has promised that whosoever will believe in him,
and ask him for forgiveness, and receive him into their heart will be
forgiven and will be given the gift of everlasting life.
The
scripture warns us: "Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to
the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them
slip. For if the word spoken by angels was steadfast, and every
transgression and disobedience received a just recompense of reward; How
shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first
began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that
heard him; God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders,
and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his
own will?" Hebrews 2: 1-4.
This then, should answer the
question: Who is God? Before it is eternally too late won't you turn to
Christ and accept him as your own personal Lord and Savior?

which Rodd Will You Take?
Thought For Today – July 21, 2022
Which Road Will You Take? - By: Robert A. Searles
There are two roads in life on which mankind may travel. It is
2
impossible to travel on both roads at the same time, therefore one must
3
chose which road he will travel. Both roads start from the same place,
4
and it appears at first that they will both lead to the same
5
destination, for they seem to run parallel to one another for quite a
6
distance, but then very subtly they begin to separate and the distance
7
between them begins to widen, and after a while they have gone in
8
completely different directions.
Jesus Christ our Lord and
9
Savior has warned us about choosing the wrong road in life, and has
10
described these two roads for us. He has pictured one as being a very
11
broad , well paved, well lighted, and easily traveled highway on which
12
it seems would be the most logical way to travel if one had alternate
13
ways of reaching the same destination. This is the highway upon which
14
most people travel. This is the most popular highway for the
15
multitudes, but this road does not lead eventually to heaven, but it
16
will take you directly to hell.
Jesus said: "Enter ye in at the strait
17
gate for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leadeth to
18
destruction, and many there be that go in thereat Because strait is the
19
gait and narrow is the way. which leadeth unto life, and few there be
20
that find it.” Matthew 7: 13, 14..
If one would go to heaven, he
21
must choose the narrow road. This is the unpopular way according to
22
the multitudes. It is difficult to travel. It has treacherous curves.
23
It is rocky. It is a road that few people want to travel, but it is
24
the only road that leads to heaven.
“Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.” Luke 13: 24.
My friend, if you want to go to heaven and enjoy the riches of God's glory forever, then you must choose the right road.
25
Jesus said, “I am the door” he also said, “I am the way, the truth,
26
and the life.”
If you would have life eternal, you must choose to 27 believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and receive him as your Lord and 28 Savior, and by his grace, walk in the paths that he has trod.
