Save Thy People, LORD!
By: Robert A. Searles
Our redeemer, the Lord Jesus Christ, "as the son of man" , and at the same time the divine "son of GOD". came out of Israel, God's chosen people. We who have received eternal salvation , through his death burial and resurrection have a moral obligation to cry out to God in prayer for the safety and well being of his native land to whom God the Father, through Abraham, Isaic, and Jacob made a covenant that the land now known as Israel would belong to them forever.
God has promised to bless all those who bless Israel, and to curse all those who curse Israel.
May this be our prayer
"Save thy people and bless thine inheritance, feed them also, and lift them up forever"
" Unto thee will I cry, O LORD my rock; be not silent to me: lest, if thou be silent to me, I become like them that go down into the pit. Hear the voice of my supplications, when I cry unto thee, when I lift up my hands toward thy holy oracle. Draw me not away with the wicked, and with the workers of iniquity, which speak peace to their neighbours, but mischief is in their hearts. Give them according to their deeds, and according to the wickedness of their endeavours: give them after the work of their hands; render to them their desert. “Save thy people, and bless thine inheritance: feed them also, and lift them up for ever.”
