Psalm 36: 1-4,9 - Consider the Transgression of the Wicked
By: Robert A. Searles
“The transgression of the wicked saith within my heart, that there is
no fear of God before his eyes. For he flattereth himself in his own
eyes, until his iniquity be found to be hateful. The words of his mouth
are iniquity and deceit: he hath left off to be wise and to do good: he
deviseth mischief upon his bed; he setteth himself in a way that is not
good; he abhorreth not evil." Psalm 36: 1-4.
Christians who are truly born again and sold out unto the Lord are
commanded to come out from among the ungodly, and be wholly separated
from them. When we, as Christians strive to obey God in this matter, we
are often accused of being judgmental and unfair.
Can we rightly judge whether a person is saved and truly loves and
fears God, and desires to serve him? How can we make fair and righteous
judgments? This psalm tells us that we can, by observing his actions;
by observing his consistent lifestyle; by what he says; by his likes and
dislikes and desires.
Psalm 36: 9 "For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light."
