Thought For Today - February 5, 2025
Have you called unto God this morning?
By: Robert A. Searles
"Unto thee will I cry, O Lord my rock; be not silent to me, lest, if
thou be silent to me, I become like them that go down into the pit. Hear
the voice of my supplication, when I cry unto thee, when I lift up my
hands toward thy holy oracle. Draw me not away with the wicked, and with
the workers of iniquity, which speak peace to their neighbors, but
mischief is in their hearts." Psalm 28: 1-3.
We need to hear from God each and every morning so that we might know
the road we should travel on that particular day. If we do not
fellowship with God each morning through prayer and meditation in his
word, we tend to be drawn away with the wicked and workers of iniquity.
If we do not hear from God ,we fall into a pit of despair and
depression. When we do not regard the word of God - when we do not seek
him the first thing in the morning, and give him praise and
thanksgiving for all that he does for us, and all the good things in our
lives - our blessings diminish and we become spiritually destitute.
The light is always burning in God's window, as it were, to lead us
safely home. His arms are open wide to welcome and receive us back into
fellowship with him, and give us the assurance of his love and
protection for us.
"The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I
am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I
praise him." Psalm 28: 7.\
