Lovers Of Ourselves!
We are warned from the scriptures:
“This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters,
proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
without natural affection, truce breakers, false accusers,
incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, traitors,
heady, high minded, lovers of pleasure more than lovers of God;
having a form of Godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such
turn away.” 2 Timothy 3: 1-5.
This describes the worlds in which
we live today; but if we are truly Christians, and in love with
Christ, it should not be descriptive of us.
As we examine this passage of
scripture, if it can be said that any of these things are true of us,
then it is time that we fall on our knees and repent of our sins and
get right with God. We who have at one time experienced the love and
grace of God being poured out upon us ought to know better.,
Child of God, it is expected of us
as the dear children of God that we: “Continue thou in the things
which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom
thou has learned them and that from a child thou hast known the holy
scriptures which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through
faith which is in Christ Jesus.” Timothy 3: 14, 15.
