Sharper Than A Two Edged Sword!
“For the word of God is quick,
and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to
the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and
marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”
Hebrews 4: 12.
Perhaps this is why some of us
avoid the preaching of the word, and neglect to read the bible, and
deprive our selves of the blessing and fellowship of God our Father.
When we read the bible, or hear the word preached, it tears us apart
and reveals to us all the hidden secrets of a darkened soul. It
shows us how black the heart of man is without the cleansing of the
blood of Christ. It shows us how we measure up to God when compared
to his dear son, the Lord Jesus Christ.
But, Oh! What a blessing we
receive when we allow the word of God to accomplish its' purpose in
us, when we allow the Holy Spirit to take the word of God and go down
into the basement of our lives, as it were, and search out all the
trash and garbage that is there in the depths of our soul, and bring
it to our attention and give us the grace to confess and repent of
all the evil that is withinu us, and make room for the filling of
the Holy Spirit.
Every creature is naked before
God. Even if we neglect to listen to God speaking to us through his
word, yet: “Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in
his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him
with whom we have to do. Seelng then that we have a great high
priest that is passed into the heavens, Jesus, the son of God, let
us hold fast our profession. For we have not an high priest which
cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all
points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore
come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and
find grace to help in time of need.” Hebrews 4: 13-16.
