More Than Our Necessary Food - By: Robert A. Searles
Job said: "I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food." Job 23:12
As necessary as food and other things may be for our physical bodies,
even more necessary is the Word of God and fellowship with God for the
well being of our eternal soul.
Our Lord and our God is the center and source of all things, both
spiritual and material. He is the sustaining power and intelligence
behind all things, and by which all creatures live and breath and have
their being; therefore, we ought to "pant after God as the hart panteth
after the water brook" and receive his instruction daily
"Receive my instruction, and not silver; and knowledge rather than
choice gold, for wisdom is better than rubies, and all the things that
may be desired are not to be compared to it." Proverbs 8:10,11
