This Could Be The Day

 This could be the day that the Lord will return. At any moment, at any hour of the day or night, the trumpet could sound and the dead in Christ arise, and we which are alive and remain would be caught up to meet them in the air, and so would we ever be with the Lord. 

 “For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first, then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.” 1 Thessalonians 4: 16, 17.

 What a glorious day to look forward to! When Christ shall come for his own; when we shall see him as he is; when death and sickness and disease and sorrow will be abolished forever. Loved ones who have gone before us who have died in Christ we shall see again around the throne of God. If this should be the day, are we ready? Are we saved? Is there oil in our lamp? Do we have on a wedding garment? Are we prepared to meet the bridegroom? Are our lives consecrated to Lord Jesus? “Therefore let us not sleep, as do others, but let us watch and be sober.” 1 Thessalonians 5: 6.
