Christ - The end of the Law!

 Thought for Today - November 16, 2023

Christ - The end of the Law!

By: Robert A. Searles

I can not earn my salvation and my entrance into heaven by trying to establish my own righteousness by any good works, or by the keeping of the commandments of God, or by just being "good" and living a clean moral lifestyle and neither can you, my friend.  Jesus said: "why do you call me good, there is none good but God", impling that he and God were one.

God's requirement for any of us to be saved and enter into heaven is that we be Holy as he is Holy, and keep every jot and title of his laws and commandments in absolute perfection.  In this requirement we have all failed and come short.  Only one person in all history can measure up to the absolute perfection of God and be qualified to forgive sin and justify us to be reconciled to God our father and enter into heaven, when we call upon him, repent of our sin, and ask for forgiveness and receive him as our LORD and savior. His name is Jesus, the Christ, the sinless, spotless, perfect lamb of God.

The bible says: "There is none righteous, no, not one, for  all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is everlasting life through Jesus Christ our LORD." Romans    God is not willing that any should perish, but that all should have life and that more aboundant

"God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosever believeth in him hould not perish but have everlasting life" John 3:16

Christ is the end of the law for every believer.  He came to fulfill the whole law for all who will believe and be saved.

"Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved. For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth. For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the man which doeth those things shall live by them. But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above:) Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.)" Romans 10: 1-4

How Can We Dwell in Safety ?

Thought For Today - November 15, 2023

How Can We Dwell in Safety ?

By: Robert A. Searles

O ye sons of men! O ye inhabitants of  America and the world! How can we expect to enjoy all the blessings which our loving Heavenly Father has provided for us and dwell in safety when we as a nation have turned our back on God and turned his glory into shame?  We  as a people have disregarded the laws and commandments of  Holy God , and have sought vanity and leasing (falsehood and lying) in our own individual lives as well as in every area of our government from the very top to the very bottom. Today our country is in great jeopardy  and we stand on the precipice of total destruction as a nation. If we are to survive as a nation under the grace of God, we must name and repent of our sin

Abhor that which is evil-choose and love  that which is holy and righteous.

God's word says : " Righteousness exalteth a nation"  and " all nations which reject God shall be cast into hell"

"Offer the sacrifice of righteousness and put your trust in the LORD"

"O ye sons of men, how long will ye turn my glory into shame? how long will ye love vanity, and seek after leasing? Selah. But know that the LORD hath set apart him that is godly for himself: the LORD will hear when I call unto him. Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah. Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the LORD. There be many that say, Who will shew us any good? LORD, lift thou up the light of thy countenance upon us. Thou hast put gladness in my heart, more than in the time that their corn and their wine increased. I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety." Psalm

The beginning of Sorrows

 Thought for Today - November 14, 2023

The Beginning of Sorrows

By: Robert A. Searles

Today God's chosen people, the nation  of Israel is at war with the evil forces of barbarism . Hostages have been captured, some have been brutally murdered , infant babies have been beheaded, families separated and rendered homeless, and destruction and chaos in many of the cities - "Not one stone will be left on another that shall not be thrown down". Jesus said.  Yet in all of this turmoil , death and destruction, we see protestors around the globe,  advocating Israel's cease fire.

These are those who have little, or no regard for the word of God, and are easily being deceived by demon spirits to allow these barbarian terrorist to continue their evil work to destroy Israel.

Those of us who love God, and stand with his covenant with Abraham, Issac ,and Jacob, need to be in prayer and pray for victory and peace of Israel, and always beware of deceivers who may come in sheep's clothing  to deceive many.

That which is happening in the world today may be just the beginning of sorrows which will follow the rapture of the church at the time of "the great tribulation". Christians need to be alert, have our wicks trimmed, and oil in our lamps, and looking for the Lord's return for his churh.

"And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down. And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows." Math  24: 1-8

The LORD Gveth Wisdom !

 Thought for Today - November 13, 2023

The LORD Giveth Wisdom !

By: Robert A. Searles

The word of God tells us and warns us that a " house divided against itself cannot stand" likewise, a nation divided against itself cannot stand.   Right now our country seems to be divided against itself in all the fundamental values given to us by The LORD God almighty .  We have placed certain individuals in places of governmental leadership, who may have high degrees  of so called education, with much knowledge, and accumulated facts, but have very little wisdom ,  for they are what the word of God calls them, they are fools, for the word of God says "the fool says in his heart, there is no God"  They do not have a clue as to how to solve our nation's problems  Where are we who call ourselves Christians?  How have we allowed this to happen ?  We need to have preachers in the pulpits of our churches who will faithfully preach the gospel of Jesus  Christ with love and the power of the Holy Spirit and have the "guts" to warn of the horrors of hell,  and describe the beauty of Heaven.  We as individual Christians must get our heads out of the sand and let our voices be heard and take our stand for all that is Godly and right.  In order for us to be able to do this, we must be dedicated to the service of God and diligently, seek his wisdom which if we ask, he will give us liberally .

"My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee; So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding; Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding; If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures; Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God. For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding." Proverbs 1

“If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.  But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.  A double minded man is unstable in all his ways. James 1: 5-8

Stand up for Jesus! I will lookUunto the LORD!

 Thought for Today - November12, 2023

I will lookUunto the LORD

By: Robert A. Searles

What is one to do when things are so bad in our society - when the seemingly most upright are as briers and sharper than a thorn edge - when it is dangerous to trust in our so-called friends and we can put no confidence in our leaders and guides.

Our world is sick, it is in a great mess, corruption and evil is everywhere, all because of that horrible disease called sin. We need more than climate change, we need a heart transplant, performed by the great surgeon of all, the LOTD Jesus Christ. Protesters are in the streets of our cities calling for evil to be promoted and casting down the good and righteous. Jesus taught us to be on our guard, for a man's enemies are they of his own house.

What can the righteous do?  As for me and my house, we will confess our sins, and look unto the Lord and wait for our salvation.

Be strong and of good courage, stand for that which is right and Holy, Jesus is the king of kings and he will prevail in the end. Our enemies shall be trodden down in the mire of the streets.

"The best of them is as a brier: the most upright is sharper than a thorn hedge: the day of thy watchmen and thy visitation cometh; now shall be their perplexity. Trust ye not in a friend, put ye not confidence in a guide: keep the doors of thy mouth from her that lieth in thy bosom. For the son dishonoureth the father, the daughter riseth up against her mother, the daughter in law against her mother in law; a man's enemies are the men of his own house. Therefore I will look unto the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me. 8Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD shall be a light unto me. 9I will bear the indignation of the LORD, because I have sinned against him, until he plead my cause, and execute judgment for me: he will bring me forth to the light, and I shall behold his righteousness. Then she that is mine enemy shall see it, and shame shall cover her which said unto me, Where is the LORD thy God? mine eyes shall behold her: now shall she be trodden down as the mire of the streets.".Micah 7:4-10

The LORD is Thy Keeper!

 By: Robert A. Searles

"Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand. The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore." Psalm 121; 4-8

"He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty." Psalms 91:1

Blessed Beyond Measure

Thought for Today - November 10, 2023

Blessed Beyond Measure

By Robert A. Searles

In our daily life here on earth, through commercial advertising, we are constantly being offered "absolutely free" something of value for nothing, or so it seems, only to find out later that there is always a catch, and if we accept the offer of it being "free", we will find that  it will have cost us in the end  more than it is worth or more than we want to pay.

There is, however, an absolutely free gift offered to all who will receive it, offered from Heaven by one who cannot lie,The LORD Jesus Christ, the gift of forgiveness of sins and eternal everlasting life, and a home with him in Heaven forever.

No strings attached, no debt to be paid, no works to be done on our part except to believe and receive.

Blessed beyond measure arf all of us who have believed and received God's free gift of grace.

"Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works, Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered. Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin. Cometh this blessedness then upon the circumcision only, or upon the uncircumcision also? for we say that faith was reckoned to Abraham for righteousness. How was it then reckoned when he was in circumcision, or in uncircumcision Not in circumcision, but in uncircumcision."   Romans 4: 4-10

Sing this song of praise for God's free gift.
