Christ - The end of the Law!
By: Robert A. Searles
I can not earn my salvation and my entrance into heaven by trying to establish my own righteousness by any good works, or by the keeping of the commandments of God, or by just being "good" and living a clean moral lifestyle and neither can you, my friend. Jesus said: "why do you call me good, there is none good but God", impling that he and God were one.
God's requirement for any of us to be saved and enter into heaven is that we be Holy as he is Holy, and keep every jot and title of his laws and commandments in absolute perfection. In this requirement we have all failed and come short. Only one person in all history can measure up to the absolute perfection of God and be qualified to forgive sin and justify us to be reconciled to God our father and enter into heaven, when we call upon him, repent of our sin, and ask for forgiveness and receive him as our LORD and savior. His name is Jesus, the Christ, the sinless, spotless, perfect lamb of God.
The bible says: "There is none righteous, no, not one, for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is everlasting life through Jesus Christ our LORD." Romans God is not willing that any should perish, but that all should have life and that more aboundant
"God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosever believeth in him hould not perish but have everlasting life" John 3:16
Christ is the end of the law for every believer. He came to fulfill the whole law for all who will believe and be saved.
"Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved. For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth. For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the man which doeth those things shall live by them. But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above:) Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.)" Romans 10: 1-4
