 Pleased or Disgusted ?

By: Robert A. Searles

When we meet Jesus face to face, will he be pleased with us or will he be disgusted ? Sooner or later, each one of us will meet at the judgment  seat  of Christ to give an account for the life,  talents, and abilities which he has bestowed upon us here on earth, and we will receive rewards according to how we have used them to serve and glorify him. Will his salutation  to each one of us be "well done thou good and faithful servant, enter into thy rest or "depart from me, I never knew you"

“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.  Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’  And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!"Matthew 27: 21-23

“His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.” Matthew 25:23

And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more. His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. He also that had received two talents came and said, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me two talents: behold, I have gained two other talents beside them. His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed: And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine. His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed:" Matthew 25: 20-26

Dead To Sin!

 Thought for Today - June 27, 2024

Dead To Sin!

By: Robert A. Searles

To be truly saved and be eligible to enter into the kingdom of heaven, and live forever in the presence of  the Holy God, the person that we naturally are with the sin nature with which we were born and have inherited  from our parents  all the way back to Adam in he garden of Eden, according to the  holy scriptures, must die and we must  be born again as a new spiritual person , being set free from the bondage of the sin nature.

God the Father, in his love and mercy, seeing that we were helpless in our own efforts to save ourselves, sent Jesus Christ  his  perfect sinless son of God to take our confessed sin to  the cross, and die for us as the only perfect, acceptable sacrifice  for our sin,  and raised him from the dead   to justify us as a new  spiritual  person in  the eyes of  God our Father.

When we. by faith believe and accept Christ as our own personal lord and savior, we must by faith see ourselves to have died with him on  the cross  as the old sinful person that we once were, and by his resurrection, see ourselves as a new born child of God set  free from the bondage of sin and death.

If we truly believe this in our heart and confess with our mouth the LORD Jesus Christ we are saved and given eternal everlasting life. Our lifestyle will have changed from sin to the righteousness of God thru Christ.

“Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.”1 Peter 2:24

"Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:11

"But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life."   Romans 6:22

"1For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but commited himself to him that judgeth righteously:Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls." 1 Peter 2: 21-25

Give Thanks Always!

Thought for Today -  June 26, 2024

Give Thanks Always!

By: Robert A. Searles

We whom God has awakened this morning to face a new day, and to learn more of him have ample reason to give thanks to him today thru our LORD Jesus Christ for his great mercy, forgiveness salvation, and eternal, everlasting life.

There are some that went to sleep last night and did not awake this morning, and  according to the words of Jesus and the Holy scriptures, have found their place in an everlasting Hell, separated from God and  saved  loved ones   forever, all because they rejected the salvation offered to them by a loving heavenly father - "God so loved the world that he gave his only begottn son that whosever believeth in him shall not perish but have everlasting life." John 3:16

When we watch the latest news  ( which may be partly fiction), and  observe all the destruction that is taking place, which has been attributed  to "mother nature" " and her "climate change"   and wonder, why? Could it be that God is grieved and presently  "slapping our wrists"  so to speak, and giving us a very mild warning as to greater judgments that may come upon us as individuals and as a nation if we do not stop worshiping mother nature who does not exist, stop the killing of babies, stop our unbelief and rebellion, and  realize  that almighty God the FATHER is the creator and controller  of all things.

If we will repent and turn back to God and worship and priaise him he has promised to hear our  prayer and heal our land.

“Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;”Ephesians 5: 20

"Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is. And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body" Ephesians: 5:17-23

A Lively Hope!

 Thought for Today - June 24, 2024

A Lively Hope!

By: Robert A. Searles

As { arise this morning from  my sleep to face a new day with all the potential problems, fears and anxieties that I may have to deal with today, may my first thoughts be of the glory and majesty of God my  heavenly father, and praise and thank him for the lively hope he has given me by the death, burial, and resurrection of his son, the LORD Jesus  Christ. He has caused me to be born again as a redeemed child of God, and according to the word of God, the same spirit that raised Christ  from the  dead lives in me, so I have a lively  hope.  How about you?

" “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,”1Peter 1:3

"But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you." Romans 8:11

"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:"    Ephesians 1:3-

"Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures." James 1:18

" Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost."  Romans 15:13

" For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? " Romans 8:24

" Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;" Romans 12:12

"Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost." Romans 15:13)

"Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the strangers scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia, Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,  are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations:" 1 Peter 1: 1-6

Give All to theLORD!

Thought for Today - June 23, 2024

Give All to theLORD!

By: Robert A. Searles

May you all have a great day as you worship and serve the LORD today and cast all your cares upon hm.

“Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.”Psalm 55: 22

"God shall hear, and afflict them, even he that abideth of old. Selah. Because they have no changes, therefore they fear not God. He hath put forth his hands against such as be at peace with him: he hath broken his covenant. The words of his mouth were smoother than butter, but war was in his heart: his words were softer than oil, yet were they drawn swords. Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved. But thou, O God, shalt bring them down into the pit of destruction: bloody and deceitful men shall not live out half their days; but I will trust in thee." Psalm 55:19-23

From Death Unto Life

 Thought for Today - June 22, 2024

From Death Unto Life

By: Robert A. Searles

We need to daily examine ourselves to determine whether or not by God's grace we have passed from death unto life.  The eternal, everlasting life that God has offered us thru Christ is not that which we shall receive in the "Sweet bye and bye" "When  all get to heaven" No! The moment that we choose to believe  The Word of God and accept Christ as our Savior, and  by faith receive his forgiveness of all our sin, God imputes to us the righteousness of Christ and we are made the righteousness of God thru Christ, and we receive all the  spiritual eternal , everlasting life we will ever have right here and now while we live in our natural bodies on earth,  that we might have ltfe ,  and have it more abundantly, and we are promised that when we leave our natural bodies, our eternal life will continue on forever with Christ.

“For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.  If so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked." 2 Cor 5: 1-3

How can we know if we have received eternal life?

We can know by the witness of the Holy Spirit who, when we open the door o our heart, so to speak, and by faith invite the LORD to enter and abide with us , and we with him forever,  The Holy Spirit bears witness with our spirit that we have been cleansed of all sin and have  become the children of God By that which Christ has accomplished for us by his finished work of redemption on the cross and his resurrection.

“He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.”1 John 5:12 "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life."    John 5:24

"He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him."  John 3:36 - "For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;"   Hebrews 3:14

"If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son. He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him." 1 John 5: 9-15

Having Faith Can Move Mountains - According to Jesus !

 Thought for Today - June 21, 2024

Having Faith Can Move Mountains - According to Jesus !

By: Robert A. Searles

What mountains are there in our lives  today that  need to be moved? Is it the mountains called sin; fear;   depression; unbelief; sickness and disease; death; addictions and bad habits which are forbidden by God that tend to destroy both body and soul, and  numerous other temptations and torments set before us by our enemy Satan who seeks to  steal, kill and destroy?,

True faith in the finished work of Christ on the cross- his death burial and resurrection, can remove all of these mountains which loom before us if we will exercise our God given faith which may be as small as a mustard seed.  Nothing shall be impossible with God

" If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.” Matthew 17:20

"For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith."Mark 11:23 -

"Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth."Mark 9:23

"And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God."   Luke 18:27

"Then Jesus answered and said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him hither to me. And Jesus rebuked the devil; and he departed out of him: and the child was cured from that very hour.  Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out? And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting. And while they abode in Galilee, Jesus said unto them, The Son of man shall be betrayed into the hands of men: And they shall kill him, and the third day he shall be raised again. And they were exceeding sorry." Matthew 17: 16-23

"Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out? And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting. And while they abode in Galilee, Jesus said unto them, The Son of man shall be betrayed into the hands of men: And they shall kill him, and the third day he shall be raised again. And they were exceeding sorry." Matthew 17:17-23
