Dead To Sin!
By: Robert A. Searles
To be truly saved and be eligible to enter into the kingdom of heaven, and live forever in the presence of the Holy God, the person that we naturally are with the sin nature with which we were born and have inherited from our parents all the way back to Adam in he garden of Eden, according to the holy scriptures, must die and we must be born again as a new spiritual person , being set free from the bondage of the sin nature.
God the Father, in his love and mercy, seeing that we were helpless in our own efforts to save ourselves, sent Jesus Christ his perfect sinless son of God to take our confessed sin to the cross, and die for us as the only perfect, acceptable sacrifice for our sin, and raised him from the dead to justify us as a new spiritual person in the eyes of God our Father.
When we. by faith believe and accept Christ as our own personal lord and savior, we must by faith see ourselves to have died with him on the cross as the old sinful person that we once were, and by his resurrection, see ourselves as a new born child of God set free from the bondage of sin and death.
If we truly believe this in our heart and confess with our mouth the LORD Jesus Christ we are saved and given eternal everlasting life. Our lifestyle will have changed from sin to the righteousness of God thru Christ.
“Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.”1 Peter 2:24
"Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:11
"But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life." Romans 6:22
"1For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but commited himself to him that judgeth righteously:Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls." 1 Peter 2: 21-25
