Thought for Today - April 13
Wait On The Lord - By: Robert A. Searles
“I had fainted unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in
the land of the living. Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he
shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.” Psalm 27: 13,
14 Oh! the sloughs of despond that we as Christians so often and so
eaily fall into when we are anxious for our lives, and have not the
faith and patience we need to be calm, and to wait on God. Oh! how
difficult it is to believe that which we cannot see and touch. This is
part of our old carnal nature, but the gift of God is faith. Faith
even as the size of a grain of mustard seed to believe the promises of
God's word, If we exercise it properly, will be as a light in a dark
tunnel that will direct our thoughts and actions toward God, and allow
us to perceive the goodness and providence of God.
Believe God,
trust his word, stagger not at the promises of God, even as Abraham
of old, believed God implicitly and God will not fail those who put
their trust in him. Believe to see the goodness of God in the land of
the living, and you will not faint. Many times throughout the
scriptures we see that God does not seem to be in any hurry to do all
that he has planned to do for our good We honor God when we
determine in our heart to wait for the promise of God's infallible
word. If God has spoken, it shall be done as he has said. Therefore,
“wait on the lord, be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine
heart: wait I say on the Lord.” Psalm 27: 14 Telehelp Publications
