Have A Merry Heart!
By: Robert A. Searles
Much of our sickness and ailments which we experience in our physical body may have originated in our mind because of bad attitudes, hatred, anger and resentment , and holding grudges, and not willing to forgive those who have wronged us. The bible says that anger creates strife, and strife drieth the bones.
But
“A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.”Proverbs 17: 26
Proverbs 16:24 - Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones2
Timothy 2:23-25 - But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes.
Proverbs 10:12 - Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all sins.
Proverbs 16:28 - A froward man soweth strife: and a whisperer separateth chief friends.
James 3:14-16 - But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth.
Proverbs 20:3 - It is an honour for a man to cease from strife: but every fool will be meddling.
Proverbs 29:22 - An angry man stirreth up strife, and a furious man aboundeth in transgression.
He loveth transgression that loveth strife: and he that exalteth his gate seeketh destruction. He that hath a froward heart findeth no good: and he that hath a perverse tongue falleth into mischief. He that begetteth a fool doeth it to his sorrow: and the father of a fool hath no joy. A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones. A wicked man taketh a gift out of the bosom to pervert the ways of judgment. Wisdom is before him that hath understanding; but the eyes of a fool are in the ends of the earth. A foolish son is a grief to his father, and bitterness to her that bare him.
