Stop "Trying to BE a Chrisian"
By: Robert A. Searles
WE, by our own efforts by ourselves cannot BE a Christian. We must stop trying to live like a Christian. When we by our own determination decide to BE a Christian and live like a Christian we will fail every time and find that all of our own efforts are hypocritical and vanity. Too many of us have heard about Jesus - believe that Jesus is the son of God; was crucified, died, buried, and risen again, and ascended back into heaven to pay for our sins, but do we truly know him as our spiritual roommate? He who lives within us; walks with us; talks with us; guides us in all our daily activities; Have we truly heard him knocking on our heart's door , and have we opened that door and invited him, by the Holy Spirit,? to came and dwell within us forever
When we accept Christ as our savior and are truly born again, we must acknowledge that we are poor lost sinners and wthout hope, now or for eternity and we need a Savior. There is no other name given among men whereby we must be saved, for God hath given to Jesus a name above every name to whom every knee shall bow.
When we receive Christ into our heart, we must believe that when he was crucified and died, we were crucified with him and died to the old person that we were, from the world, the flesh, and the devil, and when he was raised up, we were raised up with him, born again unto eternal life. From this point on it is not us by ourselves, but it is Christ in us, living his life in us So, lets stop trying to BE a Christian and living a Christian life. Lets die to ourselves, be risen and born again with Christ, and surrender to him and allow him to perform his perfect will in or lives. Amen!
“I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.” Galatians 2: 20
"But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is therefore Christ the minister of sin? God forbid. For if I build again the things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor. For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God. I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain." Galatians 2:17-21
