God's Promises When We Are Impatient
By: Robert A. Searles
"I had fainted unless, I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait on the Lord, be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart." Psalm 27: 13, 14
"Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass. For evil doers shall be cut off; but those that wait upon the Lord, they shall inherit the earth." Psalm 37: 7,9
"It is of the Lord's mercy that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: Great is thy faithfulness. The Lord is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him. The Lord is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him. It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the Lord." Lam 3: 22-26
"To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honor and imortality, eternal life: But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrightreousness, indignation and wrath." Rom 2: 7, 8
"For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, that ye have ministered to the saints and do minister. And we desire that every one of you do show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end. That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promise. " Heb 6: 10-12
"The Lord is not slack concerning his promises, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us -ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." 2 Peter 3: 9
