God's Promises When We Are Persecuted
By: Robert A. Searles
"But as for you, ye thought evil against me, but God meant it unto good to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive." Gen 50: 20
"Every day they wrest my words; all their thoughts are against me for evil." Psalm 56: 5
"Fret not thyself because of evil doers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity for they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb." Psalm 37: 1, 2
"Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness sake : for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and say all manner of evil against you falsely for my sake. Rejoice and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you." Math 5: 10-12
"Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you; and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you and cast out your name as evil for the son of man's sake. Rejoice ye in that day and leap for joy, for behold your reward is great in heaven: for in like manner did their fathers unto the prophets." Luke 6: 22, 23
"We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed, we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken, cast down but not destroyed; always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body. For we which live are always delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh, so then death worketh in us, but life in you." 2 Cor 4: 8-12
"For God hath not given us the spirit of fear: but of power, and love, and of a sound mind. Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner; but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God." 1Tim 1: 7,8
"Whereunto I am appointed a preacher, and an apostle, and a teacher of the gentiles. For the which cause I suffer these things; nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day." 1 Tim 1: 11, 12
"And who is he that will harm you,if ye are followers of that which is good? But and if ye suffer for righteousness' sake, happy are ye; and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled." 1 Peter 3: 13,14
