Forget Not All His Benefits !
Robert a. Searles
We are about to pause for awhile to celebrate a special time to count our blessing and praise , worship, and express our heart felt gratitude to the one from whom all blessings flow, almighty God our creator and saviour, the LORD Jesus Christ.
Thank you LORD for that which you did for me and for all others who will receive it, that you offered up yourself to suffer, bleed, and die, and then to be raised again the third day so that we can be forgiven of sin, and have an abundant life here on earth and an eternal home with you in heaven.
Thank you LORD for giving me a goodly heritage with Christian parents and grand parents who pointed me in the right direction toward you, and there was never a question in my home as to whether or not we were loved because we all loved one another, and didn't need to be told that we were loved.
Thank you LORD for giving me the privilege of attending a public school system with truly dedicated teachers, who rigidly taught the basics of elementary education, reading, writing and arithmetic, and with special emphasis on the true history of America. Each school day began with the reading of the bible and prayer, with student participation and the saluting of The American flag, and singing our national anthem. Discipline in the classes was strictly maintained, and the greatest offense would be chewing gum in class and if convicted the sentence would be to stay after school.
Thank you LORD for those brave, courageous pilgrims who after a long arduous journey across the ocean, set their feet on that which is now known as New England, fell to their knees to praise and thank you for their preservation, and we are told that before they left the ships which had delivered them to these shores, that they pledged to you and to one another that the colonies which they were about to establish would be under the rules and regulations of the word of God.
Thank you LORD for the United States of America, the land of the free, and the home of the brave, where in spite of the division and turmoil in our country , we still have some freedom left . There are evil forces and influences in our country that would take away our God given rights and freedoms if we who truly love God and country will allow it to happen. We who are the children of God and loyal citizens of this once great nation must come out of our comfort zone, make our voices be heard, and by the grace of God, save our nation, and bring it back to a place of honor among nations.
This is thanksgiving time. lets enjoy the feasts which God has provided for us, We still have much for which to give thanks. As David laid out in the Psalm :
He forgiveth all our iniquites; he healeth all our diseases; he redeemeth our life from destruction; he crowneth with tender mercies and loving kindness.
Lets count our blessings and be thankful. 1"A Psalm of David.) Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;" Psalm 103: 1
